Dorothy Perkins – Style Heroes
Fresh for Spring, Dorothy Perkins has launched a collection of pieces that are both fashion forward and classic. These pieces, called ‘style heroes’ are perfect pieces that can be mixed and matched together to make a capsule wardrobe that is functional, stylish and transitional. The pieces are perfect now, with the weather still changeable, simply by mixing in your current knitwear and boots, but will also work as it warms up by discarding the opaques and long sleeves.
I think the whole collection has a minimalist 1990s feel to it. I clearly remember wearing the chunky heeled shoe boots, Bardot style tops and shirt dresses in my teen years, and now they are back with a vengeance, with the Bardot tops in particular coming in a range of fabrics, from cotton stripes to broderie anglais, which make them perfect for wearing casually with jeans and shorts, or for more dressed up evening occasions worn with peg trousers or a pencil skirt.
The colours are quite muted, with brown, black and navy making up the bulk of the collection. Stripes are the most popular print, adding interest to tube skirts, and there is also an appearance of the rose quartz shade that is the pantone colour for 2016, in the form of pretty tops with a touch of Victoriana in the high collars and lace detailing.
My key pieces, which I will be adding to my wardrobe, are the amazing denim look joggers, which I think will look great with a soft, silk blouse and those 1990s style heels. I also love the navy crepe trousers which I would pair with the navy all over lace bardot top for a Spring evening look for cocktails and food.

I fee like this range is perfect for a work day (where I always struggle to know what to wear!). I especially love the Bardot top!
