Dower and Hall welcome the new season in sparkle
Eminent British jewellery designers Dower and Hall turned thoughts to the season of glitter and sparkle when they showcased their Autumn/Winter 2013 collection in London last month. Showcasing a collection that ranged from Vintage inspired pieces to the thoroughly modern, Dower and Hall showed just why they are celebrating 30 years in the business.
Every single piece of jewellery was beautiful in its own way, but as with every collection, there were some standouts. My particular standout was the brand new Chintz collection, which is not available yet, but is sure to be very popular. A stunning mixture of sterling silver with an openwork design, paired with a sea-glass Opalite, this collection has a luminous quality that makes you see something different reflected in the stone with every look. The collection has been designed with nods to the Byzantium era, but I see Victorian opulence and echoes of summer skies in its beauty.
Another new collection that just wowed me was the Waterfall collection that is due in stores in September.  I was mesmerised by the long, spiral pendants that had a real fluidity of movement, catching the natural light just perfectly, making them glisten and sparkle. Totally eye-catching and a real talking point.
The great thing about Dower and Hall jewellery is that it is totally wearable, even for daytime, making these pieces of jewellery that actually earn their keep. This certainly applies to the fun, pretty feather collection, that is full of pieces that would compliment pretty much everything in your wardrobe, from simple jeans and t-shirts to full on workwear, via that little black dress.
I adored all that was on show at this press day, and am looking forward to it becoming available, with my heart set on a Chintz piece in my Christmas stocking this year.
