She finally did it..and she did it her way! Kate Moss, the eternal bachelor girl, finally tied the knot yesterday with her rocker, and she looked absolutely amazing.
Kate wore a beautiful vintage style dress by her troubled friend John Galliano for the wedding. This had a real 1920s feel, which tied in with Kate’s obsession with all things ‘beautiful and damned’. It was sleeveless and bias cut, rather like a decadent evening dress, and the hemline shimmered with rhinestones and gold leaves. There was a small train, and the veil and headpiece was reminiscent of that worn by The Queen Mother for her wedding to The Duke of Young in 1923, which seems to be a bit of a theme at the moment, as Lily Allen’s was also in this style.
Jamie was suited and booted in a pale blue suit that was rumoured to be YSL, and wore the obligatory rock star shades.
There are so many things to love about this wedding. I love the fact that Kate was very naturally styled, with her hair loose and flowing, and frankly, a little bit dishevelled! I love the natural make-up, the 15 bridesmaids!!!!The fact that Manolo Blahnik designed shoes with the something blue lining. I love that Kate remained loyal to John Galliano, despite his recent troubles. And I love the fact that the night before the wedding Kate turned up dressed as Stevie Nicks and posed with her man!
The full wedding will be published in the all-important September issue of US Vogue (Anna Wintour was a guest yesterday…would that still have been the case if Federer was still in at Wimbledon?). We may then get a glimpse of the evening dresses designed by friend Stella McCartney. But for now we can enjoy these lovely, happy shots of a Kate who seems to have put the past behind her.
