A couple of weeks ago I ventured to the glossy confines of Vanilla in London for a very special press event. Look Again were launching their ranges for Spring/Summer 2014, and also unveiling their new celebrity face of the brand, the very lovely Stacey Solomon.
The papparazi were there in droves to photograph Stacey in some of the highlights from the new range, it was fascinating to see at close range just how frenzied the atmosphere can be. It really was mayhem, with photographers all shouting at the same time and seeming to fall over each other in a bid to get the best shots. Stacey, though, was the consummate professional and seemed totally unfazed by any of this.
I managed to grab a quick chat with Stacey after the photographers had left, and was shocked that when she said she knew my face. I had met Stacey before, when I interviewed her at the Sky Bike Ride in Birmingham, but certainly didn’t expect her to actually remember that. (You can read that interview here.)
Stacey stayed throughout the remainder of the event, changing into a range of different outfits, and showing what a genuinely lovely lady she is. There were also rails of fabulous pieces from the Spring/Summer collection, giving some idea of the vast range that is available from Look Again, including pieces from French Connection, Vila clothing and The Pretty Dress company.
I have to say the range of gorgeous dresses on show was pretty impressive, with styles that were suitable for every occasion, from your summer holiday, to a swish wedding celebration. My personal fave was the navy and floral dress from The Pretty dress company pictured above – it just screamed Marilyn Monroe and I loved the idea of it with cobalt heels.
Kitsch summer prints were also really popular, with lighthouses, cameras and China Clippers all included on fab pieces by cult brands such as the Sugarhill Boutique and Yumi. And there was also some fabulous swimwear on display, from Swimwear 365, that just made me long for the day when I will once again be able to hit the beach and enjoy some real sunshine and relaxation.
