Monsoon – New Pieces And Mid Season Sale
March is a funny month when it comes to fashion. Officially the start of Spring, the weather can be changeable to say the least. This week alone we have had sunshine, blue skies, very cold days, rain – lots of rain, and winds that could, quite frankly take your head off. Dressing is not the easiest, and the shops tend to reflect this, with an eclectic range that seems to combine pretty Spring prints with knitwear, basically telling you it is not quite time to put your jumpers away yet.
Monsoon is always one of my fave stores on the High Street, due to the fabulous quality of their pieces, and the timeless, often boho tinged styling. They currently have some really decent savings on dresses, tops and knitwear as part of a mid season sale, so I popped into their Birmingham store to see what they had on offer, and fell in love with the beautiful range of prints, particularly when it comes to dresses. Their pieces are perfect for ‘now’ – there are still lots of long sleeves, midi style dresses, that can be worn, for now layered over a polo neck and with opaque tights and boots, or with a chunky knit thrown over the top. Then, when the weather is warmer, they will still look great with a sandal and straw basket bag.
Monsoon is always heavy on the heritage influence and this year is no exception to this. Many of the pieces have a 1970’s Stevie Nicks, Kate Bush feel, and this makes them feel sort of timeless – something I just love about the brand, who always offer style a little different from the rest of the High Street. The floral motif knits remind me of hand knitted styles made by granny, they are just glorious pieces that you will be wearing for years.
So, this Spring, embrace your inner hippie and take a trip to Monsoon.
