New Look New Season

Despite the fact that the weather is, at present, changeable to say the least, we are starting to see and feel the signs of Spring. Days have been brighter, and are definitely getting longer, and we are finally starting to see the end of the Winter lines (and Winter sales) disappear on the High Street, as the Spring new seasons start to emerge.

This post is dedicated to one of the best stores on the High Street when it comes to style and good value, New Look. I took a good look around their Birmingham store last week, and loved so much of the offering, which combined both pastel and primary colours, designer inspired looks (Chanel blazers, Gucci style shoulder bags) and lots of prints including floral and dogtooth.

Paper bag denims are still a style story, in lighter washes for Spring, and are perfect with the seasons big story – the blazer. New Look has a fabulous range of blazers that range from thinner cotton designs with military button and epaulette details in bright pink, to boucle style blazers that a certain French fashion house would be proud of. There are buttonless versions, designed to be thrown over a dress in a slouchy style, and dogtooth prints that would look incredible teamed with cigarette pants in black or red. If blazers are not your scene, there are some gorgeous knit cardigans in pastel shades, and cosy shackets for the height in casual wear.

Structured style handbags are this seasons key accessory, giving a ladylike, grown up vibe to any outfit. They can be teamed with dresses that are of the pretty variety, with lots of delicate floral prints that have a slightly vintage, springlike vibe.

Here are some of my favourite pieces from the new collection at New Look.
