The Basket Company is a brand that offers a range of storage solutions that can help you organise your home and possessions, whether you are sorting children’s toys, books and magazines, or even your more girly possessions. I was recently offered the opportunity to review some of their products and I decided that sometimes, you really need to sort the small stuff. So I chose a couple of very pretty, girlie products that I would use to organise some of my own things properly.
The Basket Company, as you can probably guess from the name, is primarily concerned with a range of high quality basketware, but they also have other storage products available. The Wooden storage trunk that I chose is just one of those products, a vintage style chest with salmon pink flowers on a cream background. It looks like a chintzy relic of the 1940s/50s that you may well have come across in your granny’s attic, and the antique style handles and fastening just add to the retro feel. I fell in love with this the minute I saw it, and thought the small chest ( L 36cm x W 21cm x H 18cm) would be the perfect place to store some of my scarves.
The chest is sturdy and well made, it would look lovely placed on a chest of drawers or on top of a wardrobe, especially if you have a vintage style bedroom. It comes in a range of sizes, so you could build up a matching set of truly stylish storage solutions.
The second piece I chose was a basket. I had my eye on the Provence White Wash Small Wicker Empty Hamper Basket as I thought the shabby chic style would make it a lovely choice as a storage solution for cosmetics. The basket is light, with a twist lock fastening and small carry handle made from faux leather. The basket is made from a really beautiful willow, with a white wash finish that again makes it look like a vintage piece, something that always appeals to me. I think this would also make a lovely sewing box, or would be a great way to store a little girls tea set. It would also be a great storage box for bangles and beads.
The Basket Company is great for storage solutions, big and small. You can take a look here. You can currently get free delivery on all orders over £50.
