River Island New Season
River Island is fully embracing the new season in terms of looks, colours and prints. For the first time in a long time, the pieces in their new collections are almost screaming Summer holidays, sun drenched beaches, and cocktails by the pool. Their new collection is certainly not a staycation collection, it needs wonderful weather and that summer ready body to fully embrace it. Cutaway costumes ✅ JLo style 1970s dresses ✅ Sarong style skirts ✅ glorious Chanel style sandals and sliders ✅. The looks are glamorous and gorgeous, and I’m totally loving them!
Blazers are a big story for Spring. They allow you to ditch that Winter coat but still have a cover up for cooler days and evenings. The River Island jackets are in stunning pastel shades that look great with both neutrals and classic black, and can be worn slung casually over your dresses, or more tailored with skinny or wide leg jeans (both of which work this Spring.). If you find a jacket too formal for your looks, the bright rainbow cardigan is an absolute dream piece.
Prints are always lovely in Spring, particularly after a Winter of block primary colours. This season we have all the prints in both dresses and tops, from pretty polka dot and embellished pieces, to watercolour style acid prints, and pretty florals. Being River Island, there is always a twist on the traditional, so the prettiest floral dress has daring cut outs that contradict the rather girly elements of the cut of the dress.
River Island is renowned for its accessories, which always have a lovely, high end feel to them. This season they have a definite Chanel feel, with lots of logos, quilting and beautiful pastel shades, as well as the classic black and white. The camera style straps are great as they make the classic looking bags more edgy and also more practical.
