Style Crush – Octavia Spencer

There’s a new style star in town. Octavia Spencer was one of the winners at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, and now looks like a shoe-in for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar. She was also voted one of the best dressed on the night in an exquisitely pretty pink/lavender gown by Tadashi Shoji. But this is not the first time that Octavia has shone at a Red Carpet Event, in fact it’s becoming quite a habit for the lovely star.

Octavia, of course, isn’t a perfect size 10, but she is super stylish. And part of the reason for this is that she realises that dressing stylish isn’t about having a sylph like physique, it’s about dressing the body that you have. Knowing your shape is super important, accentuate your best bits and minimise the bits you’re not so keen on. Octavia cinches her waist in Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dresses, just perfect for curves, and shows off her impressive bust with v necklines. She follows simple rules which mean that time after time, she looks classy and elegant.

I love Octavia’s use of accessories, animal print shoes to add a touch of surprise, bright, funky jewellery to add colour to a monochrome palette, all these touches make a really polished look. Glossy hair and flawless make-up finish the look.
