Check out these amazing Hush Puppies from Schuh
Hands up if you’ve heard of Hush Puppies? I can bet that almost all of you reading this are holding your arm aloft in the air as we speak. Hush Puppies are a British institution, having been established in 1958, and still going strong almost 55 years later. But for all of you imagining some geeky science teacher in her lace ups, or, perish the thought, Barbara Woodhouse shouting sit in her sensible skirt and Hush Puppies (shudders!), you may be in for the most pleasant of suprises. Because Hush Puppies have seen a style revolution in recent years, and have emerged with some seriously stylish contemporary looks. Funky sandals,…

Alexa Chung’s new fashion role
The fashion phenomenon that is Alexa Chung continues to move from strength to strength. The Elle style icon winner’s importance to the British Fashion Industry has been further endorsed by the announcement of her role as spokesperson for this year’s British style collective. The collective is an annual temporary boutique at Bicester Village that showcases the cream of British design, from Markus Lupfer, Peter Pilotto, Nicholas Kirkwood and Holly Fulton, amongst others. Alexa will host the official launch of the collective later this month. It seems that Alexa is becoming more famous for her much imitated look than anything else. Take a look around any big city on a Saturday afternoon…

Rock chick style from the NME awards
The NME awards are one of the most important nights on the rock chick’s calendar. The usual suspects of Kate Moss, Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof will never miss this night of rock and roll debauchery, and in terms of style, the only thing guaranteed is that you will see lots of gothic black. That doesn’t mean you won’t see some highly covetable outfits. Here are some of the key looks from the night. Alexa Chung Style at A/wear
Alexa Chung is an undoubted style icon. Twice awarded British Style Icon at the UK Style awards, she avoids overtly sexy looks, instead citing 60s style icons Marianne Faithfull, Jayne Birkin and Penelope Tree as influences. Short dresses are toned down with chunky boots and quirky flat shoes, hair is worn barely styled, hanging loose or in simple loose ponytails and make-up is also of the barely there variety, with the exception of the smokey eyes. She is someone who looks chic whilst appearing not to try too hard. A/wear have used a lot of Alexa influence in their latest range of dresses. The great news is that the A/Wear…

Star Style – Little black dresses featuring Miranda Kerr, Alexa Chung and more…
No wardrobe can be without a little black dress. It’s a failsafe outfit that is the one thing you can pull out of the wardrobe when you have those ‘nothing to wear’ moments. I have a wardrobe of little black dresses which I know cover every occasion and never look anything less than chic. And celebrity fashionistas know the value of the LBD too. From Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffanys, and Marilyn Monroe wearing Norman Norell, black dresses have always been a style staple for the Holywood greats. And stars like Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston and Kate Moss show that the power of the little black dress is still…
