Reviewed – Jacques Vert Champagne Lace Dress
There are some dresses that you can wear everyday, for any occasion. But there are also dresses that are something a little bit special. The sort of dresses that make you feel a bit like Duchess Kate. These are the dresses that you wear for very special occasions – for weddings, the races, a garden party at Buckingham Palace, or afternoon tea at one of Birmingham’s swishest restaurants. This description perfectly fits the beautiful dress that Jacques Vert sent me to review – the Champagne lace embellished dress. The champagne lace effect embellished dress is truly exquisite. Dial M for Murder spellbinds at The Rep
Can a perfect murder ever be committed, or do human frailties mean we miss tiny details that would inevitably get us caught? That is the premise for ‘Dial M for Murder’, a claustrophobic thriller by Frederick Knott that was most famously bought to life by the genius of Alfred Hitchcock and the beauty of Grace Kelly. A new production by Lucy Bailey is currently playing at The Rep theatre in Birmingham, and I went along to see how the suspense holds up 60 years after it was originally written. Easter half term saw an exciting new development open in Birmingham’s Bullring, with POP UP Birmingham giving space and a showcase to a range of 80 new designers for a period of 8 weeks. Skribbies are the innovative range of kids trainers that can be drawn on. The idea of young entrepreneur Jennifer Duthie, Skribbies were launched last year and have been a huge hit with parents and children alike. The premise is simple, the…

West Side Story is the toast of Birmingham
It is quite rightly considered to be the greatest musical of them all, and last night ‘West Side Story’ at the New Alexandra Theatre mesmerised Birmingham with a production of power and intensity. A VIP audience was treated to a performance that had it all, a standout leading man, songs that made the heart both soar and ache in equal measure, dance that combined the most thrilling aspects of ballet and salsa in exhilarating form, and a ending that was tragic, and yet hopeful. West Side Story is a theatrical experience that shocked with its modernism and violence in the late 1950s, but has a story that still resonates today,…

A night at the Laurent Perrier Champagne Nail Bar
A night of nail pampering in one of Birmingham’s most luxurious locations, with the added bonus of a glass of bubbly, sounds like a perfect evening for me, and that is why I was very happy to accept an invite to try out the facilities of Birmingham’s only Champagne Nail Bar. The Laurent Perrier Champagne Nail Bar is located in the Club and Spa gym and spa complex. The Club and Spa is in Birmingham’s Iconic Cube building, and seems like a world away from the hustle and bustle of the City Centre, making it the perfect place when you want to be pampered, relax and generally chill out. Currently,…
