Festival fashion with a difference from Coachella

Coachella is that festival that will all wish we could go to. Taking place every year, it is the festival that the celebrity fashionista’s love, the one with the glorious weather, the one with no mud, the one where you can actually wear white. It combines sunshine, music, great clothes, pool parties, celebrity launches and lots of glamour. Yes, it is the one festival you can enjoy even if you hate tents!

I have been looking at all the outfits from this year’s festival and have chosen my favourite looks. Admittedly, some of these looks were seen at the events that surround Coachella – I doubt very much that Dita’s Art Deco inspired look even had a sniff of a band, and there are no Kendall Jenner looks either. The person who, for me, dominates the best dressed parade from Coachella this year has to be Alexa Chung, who shows that this year’s 70s trend translates so well into stylish and unique festival wear, and is about more than suede skirts and fringes.

Queens of Coachella

Coachella is here! Yes, the festival that is a triumph of good weather is happening as I write this, which means we are getting our first real view of festival style for 2014.  Queen of Coachella Kate Bosworth is once again showing off her style credentials, first in a Carven playsuit, and then in a boho style white tunic for the H&M.

Kate always nails Coachella style.

Kate may be the Queen of Coachella, but she is not the only one showing off some serious style at the festival. Selena Gomez showed why white can be a good choice for a festival, as long as it isn’t a festival held in the UK, or anywhere mud is to be expected. Her see through, lace maxi dress looked ethereal and just the right side of retro boho. Other celebrities also chose to chanel boho, with Emmy Rossum resplendent in a blue and white floral dress, and Katy Perry (who now has Grotbags hair for some reason?) also wearing a retro/boho look in a floral midi skirt and off the shoulder top. It Girl of the moment Kendall Jenner chanelled Kate Moss chaneling Anita Pallenberg in denim hotpants and a flowing cape style jacket.

On stage Solange and Beyonce lead the way in the style stakes, with Solange just edging it in vibrant orange. I also thought that Zoe Kravitz looked super cool in a grey maxi skirt teamed with a crop top – a style of outfit that was a look back to the early 1990s and the grunge era.
