Blue Mango – a fantastic food destination in Birmingham
Blue Mango, situated on Regency Wharf in Birmingham, may just well be my new favourite destination when it comes to Indian Food. It combines unusual dishes with delicious flavours and great attentive service, to create a wonderful dining experience that makes you want to go back again and again. I can’t wait to pay my next visit. We were greeted warmly on arrival and taken to our table. The restaurant has plenty of large tables to accommodate family groups, but we were seated at a cosy booth style seating area that was perfect for a couple. We were given time to peruse the menus, and order drinks. Pete (my husband)…

The perfect Place for an Autumn Picnic
Summer is the season for picnics, but the fun doesn’t have to end then. There are so many lovely places that are perfect for a leisurely few hours away from the house, and with half term holidays just around the corner, now might be a good time to choose a spot for a yummy picnic in the great outdoors. Vita Coca Kids are asking bloggers to write about their favourite picnic spots in the UK as part of a mission to keep picnicking going post Summer. They put together a fabulous picnic basket, complete with blankets, and lots of their new (and absolutely delicious ) fruit flavoured coconut water that…

A little bit of Christmas with Nākd Bars
One of the main difficulties when you are trying to eat healthily is the dangers of snacking. It is so easy to eat a healthy meal and do everything right, and then find yourself feeling peckish and snacking on something totally wrong, undoing all your good work. Sweets, crisps and biscuits are all temptation when you are trying to be good. And don’t even get me started on chocolate. But thankfully, a tasty alternative may be on hand. Natural Balance Foods have a whole selection of tasty, but healthy treats on offer, with their Nakd bars giving the appearance of a chocolate bar – thereby feeling your brain into thinking…

Birds Eye – Getting into the mealtime routine
The school holidays are an amazing , fun time, but they are also the time when all routines seem to fly out of the window. Children get up later, go to bed later, and seem to eat at different times, snacking in between meals on ice creams, crisps, biscuits and all manner of things. Our school holiday was full of chances to eat out, including a couple of weeks away on holiday. There were also picnics in the park to make the most of the lovely weather and late night snacks after full days out. Basically, the old mealtime routine was nowhere to be seen. But now school is back,…

Feasting at the Chef’s Table at Grill LaTour
An invitation to dine at the Chef’s table at one of my favourite Birmingham Hotels was the exciting proposition that dropped into my inbox a couple of weeks ago. Hotel LaTour has always offered fabulous fine dining in its Aalto restaurant, but the rebranding of the restaurant as Grill LaTour, with an emphasis on my very favourite food, succulent steak, was something for foodies(and me!) to get very excited about. A really good steak restaurant has to be one of my favourite places to eat, and when the restaurant is also offering fresh produce, including locally grown fruit and vegetables, I think you have a destination that will be hard…
