    A love for Biba Bags

One of my main fashion obsessions is handbags. I have a huge collection that is stored literally everywhere in my house – in cupboards, under my bed, at the bottom of my wardrobe, in my office, basically anywhere I can find a little space. When it comes to a payday treat I will always be drawn to the handbag department, and in terms of brands, it is Biba that I love the most. Biba is a brand that was founded in the 1960s by the legendary Barbara Hulanicki. It was resurrected as a brand name by House of Fraser a few years ago, bringing the brand’s Art Deco style decadence…

    A holiday wardrobe for Joe

In just three weeks time I will be getting really excited, and probably very flustered and panicked, as we make the final touches to our holiday packing. There is always that last minute fluster, have we got everything? Are we taking too many, or not enough clothes for two weeks? Will Joe, once again, wear every single thing in his case thanks to the devil that is melting ice cream? The answer is more than likely yes to all questions, but at least with Joe’s stuff the packing is easier to begin with as he will literally live in shorts and t-shirts for the whole of the two weeks. The Little black dress makes a triumphant return at Cannes

The Cannes festival continues and I continue to be blown away by the beauty of many of the looks on display. Forget the excessive amounts of flesh that we seem to be bombarded with lately, the likes of Emma Stone, Sienna Miller, Cate Blanchett, Naomi Watts and Lupita Nyong’u have decided to show us what a movie star really looks like, rather than opting for Cher’s Bob Mackie cast-offs. It is both a breathe of fresh air, and a visual treat. Glamour at its best in a beautiful setting. One thing I have noticed is that classic, glamorous black gowns seem to be making a Cannes comeback. Yes, there have…

Glamour at the Baftas from House of Fraser

Last night saw the television Baftas taking place, with the stars of the small screen walking the red carpet. Sheridan Smith, Lucy Mecklenburgh, Millie Mackintosh, Michelle Keegan and Denise Van Outen were amongst the lovely ladies who got their best frocks on for a night of television celebration. If I’m being honest, it was far from a vintage night for style or fashion. Many of the lovely ladies had decided to go for the Met Gala flash as much flesh as possible route with dresses that offered sheer panels, strategically placed lace and not a lot else. I might be on my own saying this, but I am so bored…

Ahead of The Baftas – A focus on men’s tailoring

Sunday night we see the glossiest, most glamorous night of the year in television. Yes, it is the Bafta television awards, and this year the ceremony has been sponsored by House of Fraser. In honour of the ceremony, this post is dedicated to some of the best in red carpet dressing, with a focus on some of the best looks in menswear. It is hard for men to shine on the red carpet when we are faced with a series of show stopping looks from the ladies. But it has to be said, a sharp suit or tuxedo can make a real impact, especially when worn by a celebrity better known…
