New handbag lust list
Of all the fashion items you can buy, it is handbags that I have the biggest weakness for. I must have at least 200 now, and I can’t seem to part with any of them. I have some great designer buys from the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Michael Kors, Tods, Lulu Guinness, Mulberry and Marc Jacobs, along with lots of beautiful vintage clutches picked up in charity shops and flea markets, and plenty of High Street buys as well. The collection is stored under the bed, bursting out of cupboards, and is a constant source of moaning from the husband, but I still couldn’t bear to part with any of…

Beauty Confidential at House of Fraser
Just before I took some time off for an Easter Break, I attended an event at Birmingham’s House of Fraser (which I still affectionately know as Rackhams!). The event was Beauty Confidential, which promised to be an evening of demonstrations, great Beauty and fragrance discounts, and all round beauty fun. There were some great promotions going on throughout the store. Bobbi Brown were giving 5 minute smokey eyes sessions or the 15 minute secret to smokey skin. Chanel were indulging guests with a flash lip make-over with the iconic Rouge Coco, and there were complimentary samples available with every purchase. Dior were sharing the secrets of backstage makeovers, whilst Guerlain…

Reviewed – Yellow Crepe Jacket from House of Fraser
Last year saw House of Fraser launch it’s very first plus size offering, with a range that pulled from collections like Scarlett and Jo, Evans, Chesca and Marina Rinaldi. This is great news for those who are a size 14+, who, in the past, would’ve found House of Fraser a tough call for finding clothing in plus sizes. House of Fraser is now a definite destination in the plus size market, with lots of really stylish and wearable pieces that don’t end at a size 16. I was recently asked if I wanted to review something from the plus size coats and jackets section. With Spring finally arriving the weather…

Check out the kids selection at House of Fraser
When I think about House of Fraser, a great place to buy quality children’s clothes isn’t the image that immediately springs to mind. A fabulous beauty hall – yes. One of my favourite clothing collections from Biba – definitely. Lovely and unusual items for the home – absolutely. But kids clothing for Joe, not at all. I can honestly say I wasn’t even sure that they did children’s clothing. But I was wrong – House of Fraser has a great, and extensive range of kids clothes that offers designer brands, great quality own brands and lots of cool pieces you can’t find anywhere else. I was given a budget of…

My first fashion wishlist for 2015
Before I start to talk about my first fashion wishlist for 2015 (I’m thinking of doing regular updates as the new season lines start to arrive in store) I think I need to explain that this is a wishlist – rather than a what I really need list. Confused? Well let me explain. A recent trawl through my wardrobe has shown there are some real gaps in the clothes I own. I have nowhere near enough jeans and trousers, as proved as I have tried to grab for these for the rather cold school run, and have then discovered they are all in the wash. I really need a good…
