Celebrity style focus featuring Alexa Chung, Kate and Pippa Middleton and Millie Mackintosh

Summer style has been rather tricky to achieve this year, what with us not actually having any real Summer to speak of. But our favourite celebrities are showing us that, whatever the weather, style is easy to achieve. Glamorous celebrities, from the newly single and fabulous Katie Holmes, to more homegrown stars like Millie Mackintosh from Made in Chelsea, have been photographed sporting beautifully groomed looks, some of which are actually from the High Street, others that have seen the High Street foster similar designs. Here are some of the top spots from July so far.

Michelle Keegan and Katie Holmes

Black and white have seen a resurgence in recent weeks, with everyone from Soap Star Michelle Keegan, to Hollywood star Katie Holmes working this look to great advantage. The skin-tight trousers, whether in leather like Katie, or in shiny stretch fabric like Katie, are unforgiving, but if you have a figure to carry them off they are well worth the effort.

Made in Chelsea star Cheska Hull seems to absolutely love her Love dress. She has been spotted wearing it again recently, and I have to agree that it seems to be a perfect summer dress that can be adapted for daytime or evening by adding accessories. Cheska’s python print is currently out of stock at Love, but this festival print is gorgeous and would also look fab with tan accessories. Select also have a similar dress, this one is slightly longer at the front, but is an absolute bargain for just £20. This version is also available in leopard print – I have that one myself and would highly recommend it. (Click here to view the leopard print version from Select).

Una Healy is obviously a fan of the Kelly Brook for New Look range, and wore this peplum dress for her wedding rehearsal. The great news is that this dress has been added to New Look’s Summer sale, and will now cost just £18! (Click here to visit New Look to view the complete Kelly Brook collection).

New Look has also got some dresses that are quite similar in style to a couple worn by another Chelsea stalwart, Millie Mackintosh. Millie was one of the best dressed at the Bafta awards earlier this year, and when browsing New Look I saw this white, Grecian style dress that a similar feel with a v neckline and waterfall style hemline. In June, Millie attended the pre Wimbledon party in a structured strapless dress, again in white. I think this coral peplum mini from New Look has all the style of Millie’s dress, but in a brighter shade, as white can be unforgiving for many of us.

And now to a megastar. Beyonce is one of the many ladies (Alexa Chung is another) who have fell prey to the Charlotte Olympia Kitty flats. But fear not for those who are unable to afford the little beauties, Boohoo have a very similar pair for a bargainous £18.

When Jess Wright from TOWIE tweeted a picture of herself on holiday, everyone said, that’s a River Island swimsuit. I’ve searched their website but can’t find the colour that Jess is wearing which looks like a rust shade, but did find this bronze version.

And finally, onto those stylish Middleton sisters. The Issa dress that Kate wore when her engagement was announced is now back in stock, whilst there is also a coral version that is quite similar to the dress that Pippa wore recently whilst attending a wedding. Both dresses are available from My Wardrobe, as is a (be still my beating heart) longer version that you can view here.

Get Kate-tastic Inspiration from Dorothy Perkins

I just adore the Duchess of Cambridge’s personal style. I don’t really care that Alexa  Chung beat her to British Style Icon at the Fashion awards, or that Vivienne Westwood isn’t that impressed with her choices, I think she is an immaculate style inspiration who understands that fine art of dressing like a lady.

Kate watchers amongst you can’t help but notice that Kate is also proving a style information for the High Street too. Ladylike dresses with neat clean lines are everywhere, and non more so than at Dorothy Perkins. Just look at some of the Duchess inspired dresses I found whilst trawling their website. Then pop along yourself for more Kate inspiration.
