Golden Globes Great Gowns
Awards season started properly last night with the Golden Globes, which saw all the beautiful people out in force on the red carpet. The Golden Globes is always a seriously glamorous night, second only to the Oscars in terms of importance and star power, so, as to be expected, there were some seriously glamorous looks to be seen on the red carpet, with some colour and texture trends pointing the way to what we may see at the Oscars and Bafta’s. It has to be said, there were some underwhelming looks. I hated the 1970s bridesmaid dress worn by the usually wonderful Kiera Knightley (I’m blaming pregnancy hormones for that…

Style icons – A tale of two Jessica’s
Continuing with my look at the ladies whose wardrobes I would happily fall into I turn my attention to two ladies who share the same first name, as well as the same, impeccable, ladylike sense of style. Jessica Chastain has had a stellar year in fashion in 2014. As well as being one of the best actresses of her generation, she is also a lady I always look out for on the red carpet, interested to see how she sets off that porcelain skin and Rita Hayworth hair. She makes both fabulous and interesting choices, from shimmering royal blue metallics that are the perfect choice for a redhead, to citrus…

Cannes – The festival of great Summer daytime looks
I have always been a little obsessed with the Cannes film festival. It epitomises sheer glamour and elegance in the most beautiful of settings. The roll call of the most beautiful, most talented, most famous and sometimes the most infamous have all walked that famous red carpet, publicising everything from films to L’Oreal beauty. I went to Cannes myself in 2008, when I was pregnant with Joe, and must admit I fell in love with the aura of glitz and glamour of the place. This year’s festival has been one of the most stylish and glamorous in recent memory, with Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Blake Lively, Marion Cotillard, Cheryl Cole…

The Oscars – My top 10 Dresses
So it’s all over, the 2013 Oscars was one of the most anticipated ceremonies in recent years, with some real vintage films and performances to savour. In terms of the dresses, I don’t personally think it was a vintage year, most stars looked great, but safe in their choices, and there were so many strapless dresses that I was overjoyed when the long-sleeved vision of Jennifer Hudson walked onto the red carpet. But there were still some beautiful looks to enjoy, and so I have chosen my favourite 10, that I will announce, X Factor style, in no particular order. Naomi Watts in Armani Prive Naomi Watts looked sublime in…

BAFTAS – My Best Dressed
I have to say that this years BAFTA awards was one of the most enjoyable in years. Stephen Fry was on great form presenting, and the Hollywood contigent was almost in full attendance, making this a super glamorous and starry eyed occasion. It was also one of the best dressed award evenings I have ever watched, with just so many fantastic looks, ranging from super elegant to super sexy. I’ve decided to focus on my favourite dresses from this years ceremony, so there are no places for Anne Hathaway (fine, but a tad dull in Burberry), Andrea Riseborough and Marion Cotillard (who wore the same, gorgeous shade of yellow in…
