Phillip Treacy – Mad hatter or Millinery Genius?
If there was one person who faced criticism in the aftermath of the Royal Wedding, it was Philip Treacy. The Milliner to the stars created almost 40 hats and fascinators for the occasion, with some being better received than others. And none were ridiculed more than the creations worn by the Royal Princesses, Beatrice and Eugenie. Poor Beatrice’s hat has been compared to everything from an upturned toilet seat to a Telletubby, even gaining its own Facebook page, ‘Princess Beatrice’s ridiculous hat page. Beatrice is a big fan of Treacy, and has worn his creations in the past, often with the same ridicule, like when she wore the unusual butterfly…

From ‘Waity Katy to Waitrose Katy’
Almost a week after she walked down the aisle in that stunning McQueen dress, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge was spotted out and about on the Isle of Anglesey doing her food shop in the local branch of Waitrose. Kate looked casual but smart, showing that despite claims that the Queen had said that Kate should now avoid the skinny jeans, Kate is going to do no such thing. She was wearing one of her favourite brands, £195 Hudson jeans, with luxurious Sloane favourites – a long line white cashmere sweater, French Sole mock croc pumps, and a pretty green frilled shawl. Her hair was glossy, and although she did look …

Royal Wedding – best dressed guests.
The Royal wedding was a perfect excuse for fashion watching. I got up really early to watch the guests arrive in all their sartorial splendour, and I wasn’t disappointed. The wedding guest style had everything, from the brights of Joss Stone and Tara Palmer Tompkinson, the Phillip Treacy hats that gave more than a passing glance to the style of the late Isabella Blow, the surprising elegance of Camilla Parker Bowles, and the extraordinary outfit choices of the Princesses of York. Here are my favourite outfits of the day, along with a few that may not become trendsetting. Ageless style Camilla Parker Bowles wore a beautiful Anna Valentine coat/dress. This…

April Style Icon of the Month – Kate Middleton
From shopping trips on the High Street to that fabulous wedding dress. From a neat Amanda Wakeley blue dress and jacket, to a sleek and stylish black Issa dress, there could be no other style icon for the month of April than the beautiful Kate Middleton, now the Duchess of Cambridge. The stunning ivory wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton from the house of Alexander McQueen was exquisitely simple and elegant. Lace sleeved, with a nipped in waist and a-line skirt, this was a dress fit for a Princess, demure, with a slight antique feel, but also very contemporary, and set to be the style all brides aspire to this year.…

Kate – from Haute Couture to High Street.
Anyone who thought that the wearing of that Sarah Burton wedding dress would see Kate, Duchess of Cambridge move from her beloved High Street to Haute Couture was going to be sorely mistaken. Kate left for her honeymoon wearing a dress that was bought for £49.99 from…Zara! Kate had shown her love for the High Street in the week before the wedding, stocking up on dresses from Warehouse, underwear from Goldenpoint and trousers from Whistles for her honeymoon. She even bought the famous ‘Kate’ blouse from Whistles, leading people to wonder what had happened to the first blouse that led to her needing a second! But the glossy mags have…
