There was only one choice for style icon of the month for June – beautiful bride and glowing bride-to-be Lily Allen. I have been a fan of Lily’s style since I saw her at Glastonbury wearing a multi-coloured ball gown and hi-top trainers. She had that eclectic mix of vintage and street style that made her look totally original. Fan Bing Bing is my nomination for style icon of the month after she wore a series of stunning looks at the Cannes film festival. I confess to not being that knowledgable about the lovely Chinese actress and singer, but what I do know is that every time she appears on the red carpet I gasp in astonishment. She always looks completely immaculate, perfectly groomed, and wears the most knock out outfits imaginable. Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton-Kate walks again
It was fashion and fetish, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell at the Louis Vuitton A/W 2011 show in Paris yesterday. Marc Jacobs had a lot to live up to after the amazing success of his two most recent collections, which had evoked the glamour of the 1950s and disco heyday 1970s respectively. This collection was altogether darker and seedier, less glamorous and more oppressive. And to my mind, even adding too of the most iconic supermodels of all time did nothing to lift the disappointment over what was a seriously depressing, if decadent, collection.
