July Outfit Post
July was my favourite month of the year so far. This was because I spent half of the month in wonderful Cyprus, and, more importantly, I got to see my little brother get married. It was a month of sunshine and fun, and, to top it all off, there was a sleepover at Warwick Castle and a theatre night too. A busy month that was full of fun. My outfits this month all suggest sunny days and a warm climate, which makes perfect sense as Cyprus was going through a bit of a heatwave at the time (40 degrees plus most days – basically melting weather). Summer dress inspiration from Angelina Jolie, Madame X and Mango
When it comes to Summer dressing, black is the new white. Black is not always first choice for summer dresses, pretty much every colour will come in front of it in our mental lists, but I think this is a mistake. Black is always chic, looks great against a suntan, covers all manner of evils when you’re having those not-so-perfect days bodywise, and is basically a classic choice, even (or maybe especially) in summer. Gorgeous Looks from the Evening Standard Awards
The Evening Standard awards are, in general, a far more low-key affair in British film than the Baftas, which are due to take place this sunday, but they still throw up some good looks, and, in Andrea Riseborough’s Jenny Packham, a dress that could rival anything that Hollywood has to offer. Also attending the ceremony was Helen McCrory, that wonderful actress so often in the shade of hubby Damian Lewis. I loved her maxi skirt and black silk blouse.
