Vivienne Westwood and Betsey Johnson – still style mavericks after all these years!
A revisit of a post from 2011. We have just seen the end of London Fashion Week, following hot on the heels of New York fashion week, and it is safe to say that two of the brightest, most interesting Autumn collections come from two style mavericks who first came to our attention in the 1970s. Both Vivienne Westwood and Betsey Johnson are at an age when they could relax and put their feet up, instead, they are continuing to push fashion boundaries. Here are some of the highlights of their recent collections. Alice in Wonderland meets the Royals! As can be expected of the woman who was at the…

The rise of the redhead.
Revisiting a post from 2010. Gentlemen might prefer blondes, whilst brunettes are traditionally more sensuous and mysteries, but it is redheads who are having a moment. From Karen Gillan as Dr Who‘s sexiest and most stylish assistant ever, to Nicola Roberts rise to fashionista fame, redheads have been at the forefront of fashion in 2010. The style of the girls who appeared at the press conference yesterday was a far cry from the…

She’s golden and she’s green…
Golden Green..title of one of my favourite songs (by The Wonderstuff if you’re wondering…) and also one of my favourite colours. Green is probably the most versatile colours around. Think about it..perfect at Christmas time, where you will colour co-ordinate the tree perfectly. Great in pale and citrus shades in the Summer, and set to be a massive colour in S/S 2012. Bottle green is great for Autumn, and then there are the fantastic jewel shades of jade and teal that look amazing as evening wear and daywear. Next have some amazing pieces from their latest collection in all shades of green. From fabulous dresses to great peg leg trousers,…
