BHS A/W 13 – Fifty shades of Grey
Continuing with my trawl around the new Autumn/Winter ranges arriving in shops every day, I’m now turning my attention to BHS. Once the domain of little old ladies looking for twinsets and sensible skirts, in recent years BHS has seen Dorothy Perkins and Wallis concessions hit stores, as well as developing its own range in Sophie Grey. It is now most definitely a place to add to your Saturday shopping list, and if you are online, you can make great savings with a BHS promo code. The striking thing about the current BHS collection is the use of grey as a great base colour for the range. Grey is always…

Reviewed – Yellow Print Jersey Dress from Wallis
I’ve been talking on the blog about transitional pieces recently, as we move from our glorious summer into the slightly chillier days of Autumn. It is still warm at the moment, but there have been duller and chillier days, a little less in the way of blue skies, a little more in the way of drizzle. And the nights are starting to draw in – you definitely need a cardigan or jacket when heading for a night out. As part of Fashion-Mommy’s third birthday, those lovely people at Wallis sent me some fantastic, transitional pieces to review. You can find the first review here, the second piece I got to…

Get the Duchess of Cambridge’s latest look at Boden
The Duchess of Cambridge has been spotted looking very slim and elegant, shopping on the Island of Anglesey. And whilst the press have been focusing on the lack of any remaining baby bump, I must admit to being far more interested in Kate’s outfit, which I think is a great transitional fashion look, perfect for shopping trips and the school run. Kate’s outfit is a masterclass in classic separates. A Ralph Lauren Breton top, teamed with a pair of black skinny jeans. Add the neutral shoes from Sebago and Kate looks smart yet casual. Many people look at Breton tops as a great spring trend, but they are equally good…

Vintage Flashbacks – Celia Birtwell and Barbara Hulanicki
Sometimes it feels as if fashion time isn’t moving forwards, but is instead moving backwards. A case in point is that this last week has seen two new High Street collections launched by ladies who can only be described as legends of the 1960s and 1970s, Biba’s Barbara Hulanicki and Celia Birtwell. Now both grande Dames of fashion, and particularly fashion heroines of anyone who adores print, both Barbara and Celia and their designs remain as relevant as ever. Celia’s latest prints are emblazoning a fabulous new collection of dresses and separates for cool Japanese brand Uniqlo. Shirtwaister dresses, elegant, masculine cut shirts and cute, versatile long sleeved t-shirts are…

Folli Follie Bracelets – A fashion passion
Last Christmas I attended a special bloggers event at Selfridges in Birmingham. It was an amazing event which I truly enjoyed, and the night was enhanced even more when we were given a special Christmas goodie bag to take home. I literally let out a squeal of delight when I discovered an orange Folli Follie pouch within, and squealed some more when I opened it to find a beautiful signature bracelet in one of my favourite shades of blue. Christmas had certainly come early! Since that night I have fallen deeper and deeper in love with Folli Follie, a brand which I think designs beautiful jewellery which also deliver the…
