December Outfit post part 2 – Christmas!
Welcome to part 2 of my outfit round up for the month of December. This is the part of the run up concentrating on the outfits I wore over the Christmas period, so, as you might expect, it contains a lot of glitter and sparkle. There are also lots of new things that I was gifted for Christmas by my lovely hubby and family. And, as we are now firmly entrenched in the January sales, lots of the items are now heavily reduced, giving you the ideal opportunity to grab a great sales bargain. I am always firmly of the opinion that the Christmas tree shouldn’t be the only thing…

New Look Inspire – True inspiration
Tube Skirts – they were such an 80s thing weren’t they. I remember seeing them everywhere as a child, ranging from cheap market efforts where women seemed unable to walk without great difficulty, to magazines filled with the likes of stunning supermodels in Azzedine Alaia. But like many relics of fashions past, tube skirts started to make a comeback a couple of years ago, and are now a comfortable part of many wardrobes. I think the comeback is due in part to the versatility of both wear and design. Tube skirt can now be anything from a mini to a maxi, and can be worn for pretty much any occasion.…

Reviewed – Gudrun Sjoden Caramel Skirt
One of the great things about press days hosted by PR companies is that you get to discover new brands that you then fall in love with. This happened to me when I attended a Varg press day and was introduced to Scandinavian brand Gudrun Sjoden. I had never heard of the label, but instantly felt an affinity with the cool and casual designs that seemed to be perfect for working moms to have in both their on and off duty wardrobe. I reviewed some pieces from the Autumn/Winter collection in November (you can read that review here), and was very pleased when Rachel from Varg asked if I would…

Reviewed – AX Paris Laser Cut PU Scallop Skirt
I must confess, I haven’t worn a leather, or leather look skirt since I was 20. The last one I wore was a black leather pencil skirt that I got from Camden Market, wore a few times, and then retired, thinking I looked like a watered down version of a Midlands Joan Jett – so not a good look. But earlier this month, whilst browsing the AX Paris curve collection choosing a piece to review, I spotted the Laser Cut PU scallop skirt. This was a leather look skirt with a difference. Forget thigh skimming pelmets, or ultra tight tubes, this skirt was demure and modest, almost 1950s in shape.…

AX Paris Curve Lemon Chiffon Skirt – fruity gorgeousness
When you are a size 16+, you can find yourself limited in the shopping department. Although many stores now have ‘plus size’ ranges, these are often quite limited in scope and choice, to the point that I often find myself mouthing those immortal words ‘not another tunic…’ So I was quite excited last year when AX Paris launched ‘Curve’, a range that would stock fashionable items in sizes 16-26. Curve promised to offer so much more than just leggings and tunics in every shade of black, it promised beautiful maxi dresses perfect for evening occasions, brightly coloured tops and t-shirts that would fit rather than swamp a curvier frame. And…
