Men’s footwear – Ideas for Father’s Day from Standout.Net

I’m continuing with my look at ideas for gifts for men, specifically with Father’s Day in mind, but also for birthdays and any other special occasion. Today I am looking at another company which has designer styles in abundence – Standout.Net.

Standout.Net launched its online store in 2015, and since then it has dedicated itself to offering men style and choice when it comes to clothing, offering more than 70 different brands. It says “We’re passionate about helping men (of all ages) find just the right piece of designer clothing. Whether for chilling out, hitting the nightlife, attending dinner parties, a style re-fresh or simply day-to-day living our men’s designer clothing store has a superb selection of the best brands at the right prices. ” It also has the attractive policy of free returns and exchanges (you’d be surprised how many websites still don’t offer this) as well as free delivery on all orders over £24.95.

I have been browsing the Standout.Net website for Father’s Day ideas, and have been impressed with the extensive range of footwear that it stocks. I think Footwear is a great gift idea for dad’s – even the most stubborn ‘I want nothing’ father can’t deny that they have to wear something on their feet. My dad is partial to trainers, which he will wear above all other footwear, and Standout.Net has Vans, Converse, K Swiss and New Balance amongst others. For my husband and baby daddy Peter, I would opt fot Desert or Chelsea boots, or a smart, directional brogue. Base London and Jeffrey West would be perfect choices for a really special gift for Pete, totally suiting his style.

Here are some of my current key picks from Standout.Net.

Fashion Focus – Clarks Gore-tex boots

With Winter setting in with its ever changeable weather, now is definitely the time to invest in Clarks Gore-tex footwear. Whether your preference is for sporty style trainers, or sleek winter boots, the Gore-tex range has something for you stylewise, whilst promising to keep your feet warm and dry, whatever the weather.

Gore-tex technology in your footwear enables your feet to be protected from all-weather conditions whilst enabling your feet to breathe. This makes them the perfect footwear for both hot and cold days. For whilst in Winter you want to keep your feet warm and dry when walking through snow, sludge and rain, in Summer you really want to avoid that awful sweaty foot syndrome that you often find when wearing your normal trainers.

The latest Gore-tex range at Clarks is full of stylish designs that have mass appeal. Top of my list are the incredible Neeve Ella GTX knee-high boots, which have that English country look that allows you to believe that Stella Tennant and Luella Bartley would wear these whilst messing about with horses.

Another design that I love are the Mara Sand, which, in black leather, are another variation on the classic riding boot. Sleek and stylish, these are the wear anywhere boots from the Gore-tex collection.

As well as sleek, knee-high boots, the Gore-tex collection also contains a great range of snowboots that will look as great on the school run as they do on the slopes. The Iso Hi boots contain an extra insulated lining for extra warmth, and rubber soles for that extra grip for the days of treacherous pavements.

And of course there are trainers. Lightweight, stylish women’s trainers that have WaveWalk outsoles (they allow you to walk longer for less effort) as well as the Gore-tex technology, making them perfect for ladies who spend long periods of time on their feet. I have seen many ladies wearing these in London on the commute into work, keeping their uncomfortable heels in ta bag until they get to the office.

Fashionable Feet

Wondering what the latest in footwear is going to be this autumn?  The key word from designers and the couture shows converted to the high street is – fun!   The over-the-top decoration of the summer styles is giving way to young, colourful, and glitzy styles, and enough choice for even the most demanding.

Leisure styles favour the trainer-teamed-with-glitter look, so check out New Look for their black star stud lace-up high-top shoes online (pictured).  Worn with slim-cut black cords, these look stunning.  Boots have gone more basic, with a return to an emphasis on the chunky country-style, and the quality of leather.  Colours are tan, dark brown and black, to complement the darker colours fashionable for your wardrobe this autumn.  Cropped length trousers are back, worn with the latest Cossack style boots, or long boots in fake snakeskin.

Black star stud lace up hi-tops from New Look; a snip at £12!

The theme of fun is reflected in the lacing used in many of this autumn’s evening styles, to intrigue and tempt and create an eye-catching look.  Long boots have been given contrasting colour lacing to match brilliant stiletto heels, and peep-toe ankle boots  are decorated with open-fronted lacing.  The challenge will be to find the wardrobe to match!  Velvet and damask are the coming materials, so how about teaming the latest in evening footwear with black or silver grey velvet trousers, or with one of the Medieval-inspired maxi coats in golden damask, trimmed with generous amounts of artificial fox fur? The look drawn from the latest blockbuster film ‘Anna Karenina’ is going to be all the rage this winter.  Keira Knightley’s sweeping skirts, fur tippets and exquisitely chic little hats will be appearing on the high street, along with the military-influenced details of frogged embroidery on jackets and stiletto heeled ankle boots.

Not forgetting comfort – those fun, stylish but comfortable shoes that form a staple part of every woman’s wardrobe.  There are some great styles to choose from this autumn.  Ballet pumps in plain colours or embellished with fun accessories, and in floral prints, are in many collections.  Casual wedges that lengthen the leg and look fantastic on anyone are equally popular, often in dark shades of suede – tobacco brown and mole grey.  Feet are going to be fun this season!
