Jewellery Ideas for Valentine’s Day: Stackable Rings, Watches And Designer Treasure

With Valentine’s day just a week away, I am today having a look at gifts that would work  well for both men and women, that is, the gift of jewellery. Jewellery is very much a gift that appeals to varied tastes, and whether you opt for beautiful costume pieces, or the real deal, you can be sure that the effort that has gone into choosing a piece of jewellery would be very much appreciated.

Here I have put together a few jewellery gift ideas that I think should cover all bases and tastes.

Stackable Rings

A great gift idea, and also a really stylish and fashionable item, are stackable rings. You can pick these up quite cheaply in metal from places like Accessorize, but for really making a statement you should go for gold and gemstone options. Stackable rings can range from simple bands, to signet rings and wishbone styles and work in gold and silver. I love these as a gift idea, they work well for those who love the bohemian look, and can be something you can add to on different occasions like birthdays and Christmas to create a really unique, beautiful look.

A Watch

Giving a gift of time works well for both men and women. Brands like Rolex, Breitling and Cartier would be enough to put a smile on any face, but, of course, these do come with a high price tag. However, you could opt for a second hand design at a much more affordable price. Pre-Owned watches are now available with a guarantee of authenticity from companies like Xupes. Xupes also deal in pre-owned designer handbags which could be another gift idea, one which would definitely work for me.

Costume Jewellery from Butler and Wilson

When it comes to costume jewellery, Butler and Wilson is my destination of choice. I’ve always loved the beautiful store on South Molton Street, which is how I imagine the jeweled cave from Aladdin would look, just so sparkling and pretty. If you can’t get to the London store, you can find Butler and Wilson pieces at super affordable prices at QVC.

A designer piece

Buying a designer piece of jewellery can often be cheaper than opting for the designer bag or shoes. Selfridges always have great pieces by Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen and some of these come in at less than £150. These gifts come beautifully boxed and would be sure to be opened with appreciative gasps on February 14th.

Valentine’s Day – The Final Countdown

Valentine’s Day/Galentine’s Day, whatever you may be celebrating, there are just a few days to go before you need that perfect gift for your loved one.

This is my final gift guide for Valentine’s 2018, with failsafe products that will earn you plenty of brownie points from your loved one. There is not a cute teddy, bunch of flowers or sickly looking chocolates anywhere in this guide.

ThatchFace Beard Oil

I love a product with a good story behind it, and ThatchFace beard oil certainly fits that bill. Set up in 2017 by Ben and Leanne Cleaver, the Thatchface beard oil uses a range of different oils and scents to create beard oils that are non synthetic and leave the beard feeling conditioned and moisturised. My husband Pete loves the Got Wood fragrance that  draws on the scents of cedarwood, sandalwood, pine needle and a hint of lime to give a warm and masculine scent. The scent is not overpowering, but is fresh and pleasant, and the dropper style bottle means that you do not use more than you need, meaning it lasts for ages.

10% of the profit from the ThatchFace range goes to men’s cancer charities following Ben’s own fight with testicular cancer. If you buy this as a gift, either for Valentine’s Day, or just for a loved one to try, you can give this in the knowledge that it is also doing some good in the fight against Cancer.

Say It With Flowers

Flowers are the most traditional, popular, and, let’s be honest, the most cliched gift to give on Valentine’s Day. But, this year, Selfridges are thinking outside the box when it comes to flowers, with flower fragrances and prints that allow you to give a bloom without a petal or sneeze in sight. You can say it with flowers in a way that will last long after you’ve put the real thing in the bin.

A Few More Valentine Gift Ideas

And so January is finally over. Did a month ever feel so long? I’m pretty sure it had at least 70 days, and that almost all of them were dismal. But now, thank goodness, it is finally February, a short month of pancakes, half term, love, and the knowledge that Spring is really not that far away.

I’m continuing with my look towards February 14th, which is, of course, St Valentine’s Day, and bring you a few more gift ideas if you are still stuck for what to get for your most beloved. This post features jewellery, toiletries and alcohol, all of which I would be most happy to receive myself, and hopefully may help you if you are still struggling for ideas. Every gift featured is under £30, just in case you are having a frugal February, and come with pretty packaging which means you can save on paper and gift bags.

Enjoy!

Jewellery From Hersey and Son

Jewellery is a bit of a no brainer when it comes to Valentine’s Day, but rather than opt for something large and ostentatious that will only be worn on special occasions, opt for something that will be loved and cherished, but can also be worn every day.

Hersey & Son is one of the few remaining traditional silversmiths in the UK. Set up by Stewart’s Father in 1955, all of their pieces are still manufactured by hand in their London workshop and have been a trade secret for the last 60 years. Including sterling silver tableware, photo frames, wine coasters and now men and women’s jewellery. 95% of the collection can be engraved making them lovely personal gifts. Hersey and Son have a beautiful range that should suit all tastes, and my current favourite, and number one pick has to be the Sterling Silver Star pendant that is a wonderful gift idea for the star in your life.

I love that you can wear this as a simple star, or can add an initial charm or a birthstone charm to build up the look. It is also available in two chain lengths, which I think is also a great idea when it comes to matching someone’s personal style and taste. The necklace also comes beautifully gift boxed, far belying the fact that the necklace is now less than £25.

Humble Natural Beauty Hand Wash and Hand Lotion

If you have a loved one who is a fan of natural beauty, then I would recommend the lovely hand wash and hand soap duo from Humble Beauty, the new range from television presenter Kate Humble. The set, available from Hayes Garden World, is part of a range of natural and biodegradable bath and beauty products.

The fragrance, which is sweet pea and Verbena is fresh and lingering, and leaves the hands feeling really soft. This would work as a pampering product, or could be something that you keep in the kitchen for keen cooks or gardeners. At less than £20 it is another affordable gift that is also thoughtful and beautifully presented.

Blood Orange Vodka from Il Gusto – The Theatre of Taste

Il Gusto have some amazing bottled spirits which can be totally personalised and are perfect for your Valentine. The spirits include flavoured vodka, brandy, gin and rum, as well as balsamic vinegar, cooking oils and salad dressings.

For Valentine’s day, you can opt for a heart shaped bottle that can then be filled with the spirit of your choice (in my case Blood Orange Vodka – as amazing as it sounds.) The bottle can then be personalised with a message of your choice, and you can also opt for complimentary gift wrapping, and decide if you want an ornamental style stopper for your bottle.

This is such a lovely gift idea for a connoisseur of spirits, and of course it is something you can also share on Valentine’s eve, perhaps as a night cap after a lovely meal.
