Teen Choice awards – My favourite looks

The Teen Choice awards are always an excuse for young Hollywood’s stars of television, music and film to have a bit of fun with fashion. This means we get to see a little too much skin, outfits sometimes more suited to the beach, and looks more akin to outfits chosen for ‘the mall’ or a barbecue than those you normally see on a red carpet. And this means I often struggle to see looks that I actually like.

But there are always stars who buck the trend and show off choices that are definitely A*. Here are my three favourite looks this year, and a few ideas on how you can get a similar look. I have also added a few other looks that I think were also successful.

Whose look did you rate?

Selena Gomez

In bottle green Cushnie et Ochs, Selena Gomez surprised in so many ways. The dress was sophisticated, avoiding the summery shades that so many of the lady guests chose. Minimal accessories completed this look, and with her hair super sleek, she was definitely on the best dressed list.

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington chose something that was fun but still age appropriate for the Teen Choice awards. Her white dress from Stella McCartney could almost be a collaboration with Lulu Guinness, full of Lulu’s favourite motifs, lips and lovehearts. I also loved the long sleeves in the sea of bra tops.

Nina Dobrev

Nina Dobrev chose a J Mendal top and trouser combination which showed why she is considered one of the most stylish stars of the minute. Her tapered trousers were seriously sexy, and the deep v of the top worked well on her slim frame. A slightly messy ponytail only added to the look, which was another standout.
