Visiting Jacques Vert in Grand Central Birmingham
On Wedensday I was invited by Publicasity to visit the brand new Jacques Vert store in Birmingham’s Grand Central. This was a chat to have a look around the shining new store and to talk about all the new ranges, including a very exciting coat collaboration with Paul Costelloe. I spent a lovely hour talking all things fashion and admiring some really lovely pieces.
The new store is also a new concept for Jacques Vert, being a flagship for the re-invigorated brand. In the past, Jacques Vert has been a concession in some of the cities larger department stores, and has had a reputation as being a destination for mother of the bride – beautifully made and classically cut, but not exactly at the cutting edge of fashion. But new designs and collaborations with the likes of Belville Sassoon designer Lorcan Mullany have given Jacques Vert a new lease of life. The Birmingham store is a continuation of this.
The store is just beautiful, and is full of beautiful things. I literally fell in love with so many dresses and coats. The store also has a section dedicated to petites, which I’m told has also been very popular with a younger customer who are looking for a slightly shorter length. Accessories are also given wonderfully presented space, with a selection of brooches and necklaces, as well as traditional wedding and ladies day fascinators.

Paul Costelloe Collection
Evening Classics
The current collections are just beautiful, with the astrakhan 1960s style evening coat and the black dress with the fur cuffs my picks for A/W 15.
What is your favourite piece from the items photographed?
*With thanks to Publicasity and Jacques Vert (Elegant brands) for the invitation.
