Last month saw the first birthday of Grand Central Birmingham, and one of its main retailers, the jewellers TH Baker, held a very special first birthday party at their store. This was a stylish mix of champagne, gin cocktails and canapes, as well as jewellery demonstrations, networking and a chance to admire all the new ranges Vertu, Longines and the new diamond collection, that will be available in the run up to Christmas. Afternoon tea week at Caffe Concerto
Last week was Afternoon tea week, seven days designated to enjoying all the ‘dolce’ delights you can find on that traditionally most English of all sweet and creamy courses. I enjoyed my afternoon tea at Caffe Concerto, part of the elegant Italian chain who specialise in exquisite looking cakes and desserts and real Italian Gelato. The whole experience was delightful, although if you are currently counting the calories, it may be a place best avoided, as the cakes and pastries are truly hard to resist. Tapas Revolution, Grand Central Birmingham
Tapas Revolution is an award winning tapas restaurant in Birmingham’s fantastic Grand Central. The restaurant is the brainchild of Spanish TV chef Omar Allibhoy, and has recently launched a new Summer menu of seasonally inspired dishes. I went along today (with my dad) to try out the food and the service. I have to say, I’m totally converted to it’s charms and can’t wait to visit again.
