VMA’s Best Looks from Rihanna, Miley, Taylor and Rashida.
The Video music awards are always a great showcase for a range of looks that always seem to take in the sublime and the ridiculous. With the likes of Rihanna and Katy Perry on show, you know they are guaranteed to be anything but boring, and this year proved to be no exception. I have chosen a few of the looks that impressed me, from the edgy new look of Miley Cyrus, to the classic tuxedo style of the ever stylish Taylor Swift (who I can’t remember ever getting it wrong).
1. Miley Cyrus
I personally LOVE Miley’s new look. Her punky hairstyle gives her a touch of Pink and makes her stand out in the crowd. It sort of reminds me of when Ashlee Simpson cut her hair and went for a more edgy look – and I loved that style too. Miley chose a dress that I think Angelina Jolie would probably have worn ten years ago – no bad thing in my eyes. It had a witch/Twilight feel to it, and partnered with a beautiful clutch bag I thought this showed a different side to Miley that was as far removed from Hannah Montana as possible.

Rihanna
Rihanna looked simply stunning at the VMA’s. I loved her new haircut which showed off her beautiful face to perfection. The simple, Grecian style gown by Adam Selman just draped that body to perfection. This has to be one of my fave Rihanna looks ever – a departure from some of the more ghetto fabulous looks she has sported of late.

Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift looked incredible in a white J Mendel suit that conjured up all the images of Angelina Jolie, Bianca Jagger, Gwyneth Paltrow and all the other ladies who have channeled androgyny with an ultra feminine edge. Taylor made this an ultra glamorous look with red lips, gold sandals and sleek hair.

Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones looked smoking hot in her black leather dress. I love the simplicity of this look, all the attention is taken by the choice of fabric – imagine this in anything other than leather and it becomes a simple cocktail dress. The choice of shoeboot is fabulous too, and then her hair and make are actually sophisticated, therefore making this a very grown up look – despite all that leather.
