Wallis W Collection – it’s almost here.
The new season collection from the Wallis ‘W’ collection is almost here. The latest drop is due to be unveiled on Sunday 15th September, but I have a special Friday treat with a preview of some of the exquisite pieces that will be available. The whole collection is an absolute treat, I dare you to resist adding some of this to your essential Autumn wardrobe.
The W collection is always something special. The Spring/Summer edit was full of pastel colour and floral prints, and was a really successful blend of feminine prints and masculine tailoring. This time around, the palette is strikingly stark, black, grey, winter white, and one devilish splash of colour in the form of colour clash florals.
There is a definite minimalistic feel to the whole collection. Mannish tailoring is at the fore in the form of tuxedo style jackets and dresses, peg trousers and a range of masculine inspired coats, from military cuts to cosy parkas. Dress shapes are simple, but take in all lengths from the mini to the maxi, and there are sleeves – great news for all those ladies who hate the top of their arms. There are splashes of embellishment, but these are kept to specific pieces – the main message of this collection is that less is definitely more.
This is a very French influenced collection, it could almost be called ‘effortless French Style’, You can see elements of the style of Carinne Roitfeld and her successor at French Vogue, Emmanuelle Alt.
The ‘W’ collection at Wallis is exciting, tailored and classic. Full of pieces that will really earn their place in your wardrobe, this collection shows that glamorous needn’t be overly feminine, and that monochrome and fifty shades of grey can be just as exciting as a bloom of colour.
The W collection will be in stores from the 15th September, put the date in your fashion diary.
