What are your most treasured family possessions?

What are your most treasured family possessions? I’m sure if I asked my seven year old son that question he would immediately say his play station, or his rather huge collection of football kits. But, as an adult, possessions that can easily be replaced are not so high up on the agenda when it comes to our treasures. We value and treasure the things that may be much harder to replace, the things passed down from loved ones who may no longer be here, the presents and trinkets picked up on a special holiday that are pretty worthless to anyone else, but mean the world to us. And of course, there are the photographs, of our grandparents, of our children as babies, of our wedding days, christenings, graduations. These are the truly special treasures we own.

Recently, Chill Insurance conducted a survey in Ireland that asked about our home security and also about our most treasured possessions. Family photographs came top of the heap, with 33% saying that albums full of photographs were what they treasured most. I would whole-heartedly agree with that, my house is full of pictures, canvases and prints in each room, fabulous memories that can be evoked with just a glance.

Special Family Memories

Home Security is very important when it comes to looking after our treasured possessions. Burglars don’t enter our homes to steal our photographs, but these are often the collateral damage as they wreck our homes, with frames being left smashed, albums torn and photographs ruined.
