Winter travel essentials – escape to the sun
As a person who wishes it could be Summer every day, rather than Christmas, the idea of jetting away to enjoy some Winter sun is a really attractive one. As I sit here, nursing the effects of a nasty throat infection, sneezing from a rotten cold and generally feeling depressed by the greyness of the sky, how can you not feel tempted to just book a flight and jet off somewhere with beaches, cocktails and sunshine?
Tech21 are a pioneer and world leader in phone cases and accessories using impact-proof Polymer technology. They recently commissioned some mood boards that were focused family essentials if traveling this Winter, whether that be to warmer climes, or a trip to try to track down Santa in Lapland. These list some of the things you need to make the journey easier, whether you are traveling with young children, or just escaping for some ‘me’ time on your own.
I think Melissa has some great ideas for travel essentials, including a protective case for your smartphone. I never travel without my phone as I have to answer emails, even when sunbathing around the pool, and with water and sand not being all that phone friendly, a strong, protective case like those from Tech 21 are a must have.
I have been thinking about what I would add to Melissa’s already great lists and I think the answer is quite simple. If my son Joe (7 today – happy birthday baby!) is happy and occupied, then I enjoy traveling too. I always pack Joe football magazines and books, sticker packs and some crayons and a drawing/writing pad, these keep him happy and occupied for most of the journey, and allow me to read magazines and books too, or even get a little sleep. If I was travelling in the UK or in Europe by car, I would also include a tyre check, or would even consider changing my tyres with Tyre-Shopper.co.uk – it is better to be safe than sorry when there is a lot of driving involved.
What are your family travel essentials?

Great list, really handy as I’m going away soon so I’ll have to keep these in mind while packing!
