The Venice Film Festival has always been synonymous with beauty and style. From the days of Diana Dors in her mink bikini, to the present day array of Gwyneth Paltrow, Kiera Knightley and Madonna, you are always guaranteed a series of total show-stopping looks. Here are some of the fashion highlights from the glossy, glitzy fashion parade. Evan Rachel Wood Evan Rachel Ward has sported a series of striking monochrome looks in Venice whilst promoting ‘The Ides of March‘. Both of these outfits are by Alessandro Rich. White Stuff Autumn Collection – 1990s revisited
I’ve just spent some time perusing the new collection of one of my favourite High Street Stores. White Stuff, and there’s definitely some nostalgia for the 1990s in the range. This collection is full of chunky layers, winter florals and muted shades that evoke the early 1990s grunge collection of Marc Jacobs for Perry Ellis. One dress – two ladies – two very different looks.
Take one stunning Giambattista Valli dress, add two beautiful, but very different ladies into the mix. Change the shade of the dress from the palest of blues to the hottest of reds. And what you end up with is two absolutely amazing looks that couldn’t be more contrasting if you tried. The dress is question is the glorious chiffon strapless dress by Giambattista Valli that comes complete with its own veil. I first saw the dress when it was worn by Charlotte Casiraghi for the gala ball on the evening of Prince Albert of Monaco‘s wedding to Charlene Wittstock. I was struck by the dress for many reasons. It was…

Topping my Autumn Wish List – A bag from ‘Made of Carpets’.
When I was a teenager, I had a carpet-bag that I carried everywhere. Based on an old doctors style bag, it was beautiful and I carried it until it eventually fell apart. I have spent a long time trying to find a bag that had the same beauty and elegance of that long-lost piece. And I’m glad to say that I have found it. Ladies and Gentleman, I take great pleasure in introducing you to ‘Made of Carpets‘. ‘Made of Carpets’ are the brainchild of the super-talented Irina Bragin. A designer of 20 years standing, Irina has decided to resurrect the idea of a true carpet-bag, one that actually uses…
