April Outfit Post #OOTD
A little later than usual, here is my outfit round up for the month of April. April was a busy month of Theatre, Easter and a week in the Welsh sunshine. In terms of weather, the only word I could use is variable – which meant that outfits spanned from woolly jumpers for unseasonably chilly days, to bare legs and short sleeves when the thermometer hit 21 degrees one glorious Sunday. This post is rather full of vintage and charity shop finds. I love wearing dresses, and lately they seem to be of a variety that looks like it has come straight from ‘Bless this House’ or the wardrobe of…

Currently Loving: Vintage Luggage
Vintage luggage is my current obsession. I love the idea of using a piece of luggage whilst you are traveling and making new adventures, and knowing that, once upon a time, someone else may have done exactly the same. Who knows what adventures your luggage may have had, what sights it might have seen, which airports it might have traveled through. The whole idea of vintage suitcases and vanity cases are that they bring a touch of romance to your travels. The great news is that it is relatively easy, and fairly cheap to pick up vintage luggage. Junk and antique shops, vintage fairs, and even charity shops seem to…

Saving Money Shopping At Debenhams
I had an interesting conversation with a friend yesterday on the subject of shopping. I am most definitely a shopaholic, I love the thrill of moving from shop to shop and being able to find a wide range of bargains. My idea of heaven is still a High Street with a good mixture of stores selling a variety of products. But my friend firmly explained that my idea of heaven is her idea of hell. She elaborated that when she shops, she prefers a traditional department store where she can pretty much shop for the whole family, and for the household, in one visit. She also feels the same when…

Finding your perfect glasses with Perfect Glasses
I am in the odd one out in my family. My mom, sister and brother all wear glasses due to poor eyesight (although Mom does venture into contact lense territory at times.) My dad wears glasses for reading too, so the only person who doesn’t wear glasses is me, which, I have to be honest, sometimes leads to me feeling a little left out. Because where, once upon a time, glasses were something to be dreaded, with thick frames, even thicker lenses and style left at the opticians door, these days this is so not the case. Today glasses, particularly women’s glasses, are a stylish addition to any look or…

Perfecting that fake tan
I would love to be blessed with Olive Skin, the sort of skintone that looks so fabulous all year around. But, in reality I have a very English skintone, one that is very pale, but prone to redness, especially when I catch the sun. This doesn’t bother me so much in winter when I seem to be virtually covered head to toe, but once the weather starts to improve I want to get my legs out, and reach for my sandals, and that means reaching for the bottle of fake tan. Fake tans used to have a terrible reputation, with words like Oompa Lumpa and orange applied to them. They…
