Coming home: adapting to life as a veteran
No one truly knows how it feels to come home from combat unless they’ve done it themselves. Whether you’ve returned home because of age, injury or personal reasons, it’s never an easy transition. Finding a new purpose in life can seem difficult, and you might struggle with relationships after being away for long periods of time. So, how can you adapt to life as a veteran? Benefits If you’ve returned home because of an injury, you’ve become newly disabled or you’re unfit for work, one of the first things you should do is find out what benefits you’re entitled to. Shopping History – Leamington Spa
Following on from my post looking at the beautiful Art Deco Railway Station in Leamington Spa, today I’m taking a look at some of the buildings that make up some of the town’s shopping history. Some have touches of Art Deco, and there is even a store that shows signs of Art Nouveau origins. Former Burton Store Now Bill’s Restaurant I love a Burton Store, and the Leamington One is a great example of the style, showing similarities to stores in both Southend and Cheltenham. Out with the old and in with the new, then in with the old again. Fashion is like a revolving door. More than 70 percent of people in nursing homes are women. This may seem like a staggering percentage, but there are reasons for this. Women on average live for longer than men and have a higher rate of chronic health problems and disability. They also earn less than men on average and so may be unable to afford care from home or have family caregiver support. This can be especially difficult when looking for a nursing home for a man. It is important that they still feel able to join activities and make friends within the home. Most caregivers are also women, so men can often feel outnumbered. When choosing…

Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
A gorgeously bright and colourful version of one of the most iconic musicals in modern theatre opened at the Wolverhampton Grand last night and had its audience enthralled. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is the famous biblical story of Joseph, brought to life through a montage of musical styles, from Do Wop to Country and Western, to Calypso and a whole lotta Elvis. Wonderfully family friendly, and surprisingly funny, Joseph is an absolute joy. Joseph is one of those musicals that has it all, glorious, catchy songs, great opportunities for scene stealing performances, and the ability to look fantastic in its staging and sets, this production certainly ticks all…
