50 Shades of Dakota Johnson
It has been the most anticipated movie in years, and over the past weekend ’50 Shades of Grey’ has been breaking box office records all over the country. I must admit to being one of the few people who have no interest in seeing the film:- I hated the book and can’t really see how the film will be any better. I am interested, however, in the wardrobe of the film’s leading lady, the gorgeous Dakota Johnson. Dakota is not only breathing life into the seriously annoying Anastasia Steele, she is also lighting up red carpets everywhere with her fabulous wardrobe.
This is a lady who knows exactly how to make a statement on the red carpet, opting for fuss free looks that she accessorises with a statement lip and very little else. On the 50 Shades trail we have seen a series of black and white outfits that have been impressive in their diversity, from fluffy jumpers to elegant full length looks. My favourite is the Saint Laurent silver edged gown with the plunging neckline that she kept fresh and youthful with minimal accessories. For the Berlin film festival she opted for another plunge front gown, this time a black Dior long-sleeved dress in silk wool – again accessorised minimally, again a total hit.
Of course, Dakota is the daughter of Hollywood royalty, Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, and so wowing on the red carpet is already in her blood. I’m really excited to see what other looks Dakota wears as the 50 Shades bandwagon rolls on.

I love the simpler dresses on her. She doesn’t need the fussy details with her clean, fresh look.

I think my favourites are the first dress, cream with silver trim and the grey mid-length she paired with bright blue shoes. Love the shoe colour. Those plunge maxi dresses from ASOS look amazing!
