A Football Royalty Wedding. Sergio Ramos Weds Pilar Rubios

A summer of weddings continued on Saturday (which just happened to be my birthday), when Real Madrid and Spain’s captain Sergio Ramos married his TV presenter partner Pilar Rubios in Seville. The couple, who have been together for seven years and have three children, both looked incredible, with Pilar’s dress and hair having a bohemian style vibe, complete with thin long plaits in her hair.

Pilar’s dress was just incredible. The deep v neck at the front and back was perfect for her figure, and the whole style was relaxed, bohemian elegance. But the intricate, art deco style beading made this dress a work of art, one that you cannot stop looking at, it is just stunning. The matching long length veil, and Pilar’s gorgeous plaited hair, just added to the vibe. I was reminded of Kate Moss’s Galliano dress, although Pilar’s choice had a full skirt.

I was also fairly obsessed with the use of black flowers as a bridal bouquet. Pilar has quite a rock and roll image, with quite a few tattoos, so I thought this was just perfect for a glamorous bride who was also staying true to her personal style and personality.

As you can imagine, the wedding had an array of football royalty as guests, including Ramos’s former team-mate David Beckham, and his wife Victoria, current team mate Alvaro Morata, Luka Modric and Marco Asensio. There was no Cristiano Ronaldo though, although the two had played together at Real for many years.

Victoria Beckham’s look was quite pared down, but incredibly elegant, the sort of style we have come to expect of the designer in recent years. I loved that many of the partners in attendance had opted for full length gowns, something I have come to love in wedding style in recent years as it transfers so well from day to night attire.
