Beauty Review – Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturising Serum Concentrate
In August I attended a special Bloggers event held by the Bullring, and I was introduced to a product that was not actually hitting stores until later that month. The product was from Kiehl’s – a brand I totally love, and it promised to do all sorts of wonderful things to the appearance of the skin. I was totally desperate to try this product out, and, I have to say, after doing so, I’ve not been disappointed.
The product was the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturising Serum Concentrate. This is a serum that promises to improve the overall appearance of skin’s plumpness, while smoothing the look of fine lines and skin texture. As I’ve now hit 40, looking after my skin has grown in importance, I can see the tiredness that creeps into the skin, the lines that once upon a time I couldn’t even dream of, so a product that promises to address this is one that was well worth a try.
The serum is not the cheapest item around (£40 for a 50ml bottle), but you only need to use a single, small pump to do your whole face and neck so this will last for quite a long time. The texture is lovely as it is not oily, so you can apply it and then put make-up over the top, but I preferred to keep this for evening use, so it could work whilst I was sleeping. My skin absorbed it very quickly – a bonus as I hate my face to feel sticky from skincare products.
My main skin problems relate to hydration, and this is something that this serum has definitely addressed. My skin is smoother, and it feels softer, particularly around the extremities, which are often dry to the touch and quite rough feeling. I also noticed that my skin looks a little brighter too – I often tend towards reddish patches on my cheeks when the summer tan fades, and this seems to be correcting – making me a very happy lady.
I would totally recommend this product, and, as it is Black Friday, now might be a fab time to try it with 20% off at Selfridges.

These beauty items are far too expensive for a pensioner. Know what I use to keep away lines? I’ll tell you–exercise. I’ve done facial exercises every morning for the last 30 years, gradually adding to them over that time when I discover a new one.

These do seem quite pricey, but not too bad if you only have to use small amounts.

Kate – a little really does go a long way so the bottle should last for some time (fingers crossed.)

Ooh! Francene – I think your face exercises would make a great blog (or vlog) post – you should definitely share them.
