Bullring Bloggers Christmas event
Last week saw the annual gathering of Bullring Bloggers, getting together to enjoy cocktails and nibbles whilst learning more about some of the Bullring’s fab brands and their latest collections. This year the gathering was small and intimate, with experts from Oasis, Topshop and Selfridges talking about personalisation, Christmas pressies and personal shopping.
Before chatting to the experts there was opportunity to try food from Chi Kitchen, which has recently opened an eaterie in Debenhams in the Bullring, and from Thai restaurant Chaophraya, which is based on Spiceal Street. the Chicken and Lemongrass satay skewers were just amazing, and there were also veggie options and Sushi. There were also some stunning cocktails that had the most amazing apple swan creations as decoration, and packed a fairly lethal kick too.
Danni, who is the personal stylist for Oasis was the first to show us a little of the seasonal offering from the store. Oasis in the Bullring now offers both personal styling, and personal styling parties where you can gather with a few friends and let Danni style you. For Winter 2016, there is a good mixture of warm knitwear and seasonal sparkles. with cool jackets that can be layered over a cami and jeans. The matcht-matchy trend is also not going away, but now it has a Christmas feel due to lots of sparkle and embellishments.
Next up was Selfridges, with beauty expert Rose Gallagher offering insight into this year’s celestial theme and the personalisation the store offers. The fabulous Alphabet bags star sign cosmetic bags were much admired, as were the fabulous Christmas decorations that can be filled with chocolates and have a name added to them. There were also the ever popular personalised jars of Nutella, and an uber cute personalised Mr Men print. All personalisation is done in store and just makes a perfect gift that little bit more perfect (not sure that actually works in English, but you know what I mean!)
Kiko Milano cosmetics have some really gorgeous colours this season that will be just right for all those parties. The eye shadows in particular are pearly, iridescent and super pretty. Kiko Milano products are really affordable, with eye shadows coming in at about £7, and would make great Christmas gifts and stocking fillers.
The final port of call was a chat with the lovely Charlotte who is the personal shopper and stylist for the shiny new Bullring Topshop store. Topshop have all kinds of greatness going on in Birmingham this Christmas, including new ranges that seem to be hitting the store every few days, and great ideas for Christmas gift boxes for those men who have no idea what to buy their other half. I fell totally in love with the Bah Humbug bag and went straight out and got it, have been using it at Christmas parties for the past week and have to say what a total bargain it was!
Bullring really is a one stop shop for all those Christmas gifts, whether it be a last minute present, or, heaven forbid, if you leave it all to the last minute. With late night opening until 10pm and plenty of parking and eateries, it should take the stress out of shopping.
With thanks to Bullring and Nicki Horesh of Frank PR for the fab evening.
