Every year, Selfridges Birmingham hosts a hot ticket Summer Beauty event. The year’s event took place on Thursday night, with a theme of Summer holidays and was, as always, simply fabulous. I popped along to the event to enjoy the treats, chat to the brand representatives, and meet up with some of Brum’s lovely bloggers. To tie into the summer theme, there were summery treats on offer. Popcorn and candy floss on traditional carts attracted long queues, whilst the ‘Snow Cones’ – crushed ice, flavoured syrups and vodka, were both addictive and totally delicious. The Harvey Nichols seasonal fashion shows have always been an unmissable spectacle, but this year the bar was raised in spectacular fashion. Using the industrial space that was once the Old Post Office in Birmingham‘s magnificent Mailbox complex, this show showcased the best of this season’s hot style offerings. Yesterday I braved the snow and ice for a very special launch event that was taking place in Birmingham. In the glamorous confines of the In House Bar in Birmingham’s House of Fraser, the Aegon Classic Ladies Day was officially launched with Bucks Fizz, canapes and a very glamorous ambassador. The very beautiful Michelle Heaton from Liberty X was unveiled as the official face of this years ladies day, and a more wonderful and apt person could not have been chosen.
