Green Giant Minions
Minions fever is about to hit all over again. Next week sees the release of the Minions own movie, which starts in New York 1968 (42 years before Gru). All our Minion favourites are back including my own personal favourite Kevin, and it seems that the excitement about the strange and hilarious yellow creatures is about to explode all over again. It even reached Birmingham’s Museum and Art Gallery, where, this week a rather wonderful Minion related video was filmed on CCTV, which literally enchanted the World. Some might say that The Minions resemble a large piece of sweetcorn, albeit one with a face, and to celebrate the new Minion…

Harry Ramsden’s Blackpool restaurant
When it comes to fish and chips, there is a restaurant chain that has almost legendary status. Harry Ramsden’s has been serving its world famous fish and chips for 75 years now, but I am ashamed to say that until this weekend, I had never been to a Harry’s restaurant. But when it Blackpool, on the Promenade, what else are you going to eat but fish and chips? With the Harry Ramsden’s restaurant situated by the Tower, it was the perfect time to experience that secret recipe batter and enjoy one of Britain’s signature dishes in its most famous home. We arrived at 12.30 and I was instantly impressed with…

Brewers Fayre bring half term fun
Last week was half term in the UK, and, as parents looked for interesting ways to keep their children occupied, pub/restaurant chain Brewers Fayre launched a week of activity mornings. Children could enjoy a range of indoor fun whilst parents relaxed with a coffee, and then, once the morning was over, you were in the perfect place for a spot of lunch. I went along to the Walsall branch on Friday morning to check out the food and fun. My little boy Joe was not with me on Friday as he was enjoying a week of fun on a footie camp with the WBA Foundation. But I did have my…

Mix up the Magic on Playdates
Petits Filous are very popular in my house, with both my little boy and myself being a huge fan of them as an after dinner treat. Recently they have launched a new variety which combines two flavours in one pot. The new variety is called the Magic Square Range and we have been adding these to our after school playdates at our local park. Magic Squares come in two flavours, strawberry & vanilla and raspberry & vanilla, and both are delicious and still full of calcium and vitamin d, making them feel like a real sweet treat, but with goodness that children need in their balanced diet. The flavours are…

Frankie and Benny’s great new kids menu
On Sunday, my family and I were invited along to Frankie and Benny’s at The Fort Shopping Centre in order to review their latest children’s menu. As a family, we are already big fans of the Italian/American restaurant, finding them to be very family friendly with a great extensive menu, but I had never been to The Fort branch before. Needless to say, we had a wonderful time. The children’s menu has been extended, with new options that include ‘build a burger’ and ‘wrap it up chicken’ options. The children’s menu is good in that it is divided into two separate sections, ‘kids’ and ‘juniors’ so that it caters for…
