A few unusual places to dine
There is nothing I like better than dining out, either for brunch, lunch or dinner. I love many different kinds of cuisines and have a few restaurants that I would consider ‘favourites’ from Bellagio’s Italian restaurant in West Bromwich, to Thai Orchid in Birmingham, and quite a few different places in London. But as much as I love to revisit my favourites, it is also great to try new, interesting and unusual places to eat. Here are a few new ventures, interesting ideas and pop-up’s in the world of food. Bunga Bunga London Bunga Bunga is based in Battersea and is named for Silvio Berlusconi’s ‘Bunga Bunga Girls’. I haven’t…

Sainsbury’s celebrating the best of Easter
Easter is coming! Yes, with some children breaking up for the Easter break this Friday (not my son though, who has to wait until 2nd April for his freedom), our minds are turning to thoughts of chocolate, Easter egg hunts, fluffy Easter chickens, and all manner of food. With all that in mind, Sainsbury’s have produced a great new ad campaign that celebrates all the best things about a traditional, delicious British Easter. I love this video, because it shows all the fun and reality of a British Easter. There is the chance to have fabulous picnics and family barbecues – as long as the notorious British weather allows it.…

A miniature gift idea for Easter
Question. What do you buy as an Easter gift for a loved one who just happens to hate every kind of chocolate? Answer. A gift from Just Miniatures of course. Because whilst the person in question doesn’t indulge in chocolate, there’s every chance that they enjoy a sneaky tipple, and Just Miniatures provides all the big brands in alcoholic beverages, but in a smaller form. Just Miniatures is the UK’s No1 specialist in miniature alcoholic drinks. They stoke a range of gift ideas including Port tasting collections, cocktail tasting gift boxes and different types of whiskey beautifully packaged in a range of boxes and tins. I was recently sent a…

Gourmet Burger Kitchen Grill Warming
Last night, my family and I were very lucky to attend the grill warming at Gourmet Burger Kitchen in The Mailbox, Birmingham. The restaurant had been closed for a period of time for a £350,000 exterior and interior refurbishment, and opens officially today (Friday 13th March). The Grill Warming was an opportunity to check out the new improvements in decor, whilst trying out the delicious menu. I have to say, we had a fantastic time. The restaurant was buzzing with atmosphere, with the new decor featuring dark wood paneling and gorgeous antique effect lighting giving the whole place a retro feel that was warm and inviting. I loved the monkey…

It’s the weekend – so what to do?
I love that Friday feeling when you know the weekend is finally here. Even though I work from home, I take time off at the weekend to get out and about and to enjoy quality family time with my little boy and hubby. Sometimes (if we’re very lucky) this can involve ‘date night’, at other times we can have a special activity or event planned that we are all involved in. If you’re still deciding what to do with your weekend, here are a few things you could be doing – and none of them involve shopping! If you have no children LFW It’s London Fashion Week and the fun…
