Father’s Day gift ideas for the discerning dad
Father’s Day is the next special date in the family calendar, and with the bank holiday is over, we can now firmly concentrate on finding the right gift for that special man in your life, whether he be your own father, or your baby daddy. All the usual suspects are available – beer, socks, unispiring toiletries, but if you want to find something a little different, more thoughtful or unusual, then step this way as I show you a few things I have my eye on. Football Crazy – these may be the answer. Toffs is a fabulous company that makes reproduction football shirts from bygone days. They have a…

Living off Grid – What Would You Miss?
For many people, the idea of living ‘off grid’ – that is, off the beaten track and away from lots of home comforts that we now take for granted, is becoming a more attractive proposition. The rat race that is modern life, tied in with the perils of 24 hour social media, and the ever present ‘keeping up with the Jones’s’ syndrome, mean that, for many, the idea of moving somewhere rural, and living a rustic lifestyle has real appeal. Christmas Jumpers at the Ready
[affilinet_performance_ad size=468×60] It used to be that most ridiculed item of clothing. Knitted by spinster aunts and grannies, gifted on Christmas Day. This week, as a football fan, there really could be only one topic, and that would have to be the opening weekend of the Premiership. Football is back! I have been a footie fan since I was a little girl, my family are all die hard West Bromwich Albion fans, and frankly it was an unspoken rule the you has to be football mad. I’ve since loved my team through good and bad, including the terrible days of Bobby Gould when we were relegated to the…

Euro 2016 – My Highlights and best bits
It has been far from a spectacular tournament, and I was totally disappointed with the final winners being a team who had only won one game in 90 minutes, and had finished third in their group, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t enjoyed Euro 2016. I’ve loved it! From Giroud opening the tournament with a cracking goal, to Eder’s final flourish, there has been a lot to enjoy for football fans this summer. Here are some of my favourite moments from a Summer of Football. Giroud, Giroud, Giroud I think Olivier Giroud has been one of the stars of this tournament, because when he is around, there is never a…
