The Brits – best dressed
The Brit awards were just a little bit boring and predictable weren’t they. How I longed for the rock n roll of Jarvis Cocker, Ron Wood and Brandon Block, or even Geri Halliwell in that Union Jack tea towel. The right people won the awards, James Corden did a pretty decent job, but it was all a little bit safe. Still, there were some great fashion looks to admire. Here are my faves. Get the Look The ageless goddess that is Kylie Minogue chose a beautiful Grecian style dress by Yves St Laurent. With its nod to Halston it had just enough disco for the Brits. Kylie showed that her…

When Fashion-Mommy met Stella McCartney
Last week I had the most amazing email pop into the inbox. ‘Would I like to take part in a special question and answer session with Stella McCartney and the Vogue editor Alexander Schulman. This was taking place at Selfridges, London, as part of the Stella McCartney takeover to commemorate the launch of Stella’s new perfume, L.I.L.Y. So last Wednesday I took my seat in the fabulous Ultra lounge with a glass of champagne to listen to Stella musing all about fashion, her wonderful career, and also a little bit about family life. Here are some selected highlights. On her starting points for her collections I take my last collection…

Baftas fabulous fashion – How to get the look.
The bright and beautiful of Hollywood took a trip across the pond for the BAFTAS on Sunday evening, bringing some pretty serious fashion statements with them. Michelle Williams, Jessica Chastain, Meryl Streep and (swoon! swoon!) George Clooney all took a trip down the red carpet, being accosted by a Louis Vuitton clad Miss Piggy on route. There was also a strong showing from the Brit contingent, with Emilia Fox, Tilda Swinton and honorary Brit Gillian Anderson shining on a rather cold winters night. Here are my personal favourites from the night. Michelle Williams drew gasps when it emerged that her classic gown was from H&M. The whole look was…

Next are the sponsors of this years Elle Style awards and they have set bloggers a challenge. Could you recreate your favourite Elle style look using pieces…

Retro scarf looks from Liberty London.
There is something oh so stylish about the ability to carry off wearing a headscarf. All those retro icons could do it with ease – Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn all wore their scarves with finesse. And it looks like they may be about to make a comeback for spring, with Karen Gillan and Michelle Williams showing that they can look just amazing for those attempting retro elegance. Liberty London have just launched an amazing new range of beautiful scarves. Some contain their famous liberty prints taken from the Liberty archives, my personal favourite being the exquisite Art Nouveau feather print of the ‘Hera’, but there are also…
