The Golden Globes – The Best Looks.
Last night saw the REAL start of the Awards season, with the Golden Globe Awards. This saw a fabulous array of red carpet dresses from a host of designers and in a sea of colours. Here are my favourite looks from the night. There were examples of Old School Hollywood glamour on the red carpet. Angelina Jolie channelled a Marilyn Monroe style in Atelier Versace, a nude dress with red accents that just draped every curve. I loved how she kept her hair simple, letting the dress speak for itself. Sofia Vergara showed why she is a modern-day Sophia Loren in a form-fitting Vera Wang fishtail style dress. Some said…

Marilyn Monroe by Eve Arnold
Maybe it was because she was a woman, but Eve Arnold never felt the need to over sexualise Marilyn Monroe like some of the studio photographers did. In her photographs, many taken on the set of The Misfits, Marilyn is an earthy presence, beautiful and natural, a captivating woman with undeniable vulnerability. I first became a fan of Eve’s work in my late teens. A huge fan of Marilyn since childhood, the name Marilyn Monroe evoked images of a glorious goddess in gold lame, or standing over a subway vent as her skirt lifted around her head, a fantasy figure who was somewhat over-worldly. My week with Marilyn
I’ve been a Marilyn Monroe fan for as long as I can remember. Her sheer glamour, loveable persona and that beautiful face and figure made her my key beauty icon whilst I was growing up. Add in her tumultuous love life and mysterious death and you get one of the most fascinating personalities of the 20th century. But even with all these key ingredients, making a good film about this Icon has been difficult. The best portrayal was by Catherine Hicks in the 1980 film, Marilyn – The Untold Story. She managed to portray the vulnerability of Marilyn, but the film itself was dire. But now we may just have…

A supermarket sweep around Dressrail
The Push Pr press day held many pleasant surprises in terms of new brands and collections that were full of must have items. But one of the biggest surprises was my introduction to Dressrail. Dressrail is an affordable fashion gem. With the tagline Love it.Click it.Wear it, Dressrail is producing a fascinating range of stylish daywear, gorgeous evening wear and amazing accessories at unbelievably low prices. At the Press day I was really impressed by the great sequined dresses that were fully lined and heavily embellished, yet cost less than £30. This encouraged me to take a further look at the Dressrail website where I fell in love with primly…

Kate Moss returns to the catwalk…and heralds the return of white in your wardrobe.
We’ve only just stopped talking about her last appearance on the Marc Jacobs/Louis Vuitton catwalk, the one where she appeared to be wearing support pants and was smoking a cigarette on National No smoking day. And now Kate Moss has returned to the Louis Vuitton catwalk, and this time it was apparently at her own request. If Kate shocked on her last appearance, this time she just looked extraordinarily pretty. The Spring/Summer collection for Louis Vuitton is a frothy, candy floss confection of early 60s style dresses which were modelled on the biggest carousel Paris had to other. This was a sweet and girlie collection, that made the most of…
