Prabal Gurung – it’s sheer love!
Don’t mind admitting I just love Prabal Gurung. This was the one show during New York fashion show that I was over-excited about, and the shots of SJP wearing one of Prabal’s designs whilst on the promotional trail for ‘I don’t know how she does it’, just further wetted the appetite. I am so glad to say I was not disappointed. This was one very sexy collection. Full of sheer panels, on sleeves, on skirts and on hips, vibrant colours like the purple quality street shades used on one of the most showstopping of dresses, and with flirty, feminine shapes with bell sleeves and nipped in waists, there was just…

Jason Wu – S/S 12 – Oh so pretty!
One of my New York Fashion Week favourites, Jason Wu, unveiled his latest collection yesterday, and the collection could be summed up with a single statement ‘Oh So Pretty’. The designer, one of Michelle Obama‘s favourites, produced a collection that was gorgeously feminine, supremely elegant and totally girly – all of which is music to my ears. Full of peachy pinks and coral tones, using the wispiest of chiffons and silks, this was a collection for those who really wished to embrace the pretty side of their style personality. Fashion weeks hit New York, London and Milan, unveiling an array of star-studded front rows, fabulous new looks and superstar models of all genders! So, what else happened in February? Kate Moss got engaged There were rumours that…

Vivienne Westwood and Betsey Johnson – still style mavericks after all these years!
We have just seen the end of London Fashion Week, following hot on the heels of New York fashion week, and it is safe to say that two of the brightest, most interesting Autumn collections come from two style mavericks who first came to our attention in the 1970s. Both Vivienne Westwood and Betsey Johnson are at an age when they could relax and put their feet up, instead, at 69 and 68 years old respectively, they are continuing to push fashion boundaries. Here are some of the highlights of their recent collections. Alice in Wonderland meets the Royals! As can be expected of the woman who was at the…

Victoria Beckham at New York Fashion week
Sometimes it’s hard to believe she was ever Posh Spice. Victoria Beckham is now a long way away from her Spice Girl incarnation, and with her latest collection unveiled at New York fashion week, and huge waiting lists for her bags, she has finally been accepted as a talented designer who is here to stay. Here new collection has received praise from fashionistas and critics alike. The 29 piece collection marked a departure from the form-fitting dresses of the previous ranges, with of soft fabrics and looser fitting dresses in a range of lengths. Many of the dresses had a streamlined effect, and the overall impression left was of…
