Charity Shop, Vintage And Vinted Buys Early 2023
I have to be honest and say that this is a post I wanted to write early in 2023, but a combination of it being very cold, and just wanting to hibernate, and then being quite poorly in early February meant that I didn’t really venture out that much to look around the charity shops, but when I did go out, there were actually some great pickings out there, including designer pieces, vintage, and some great knitwear. Below are some of the things that I have found this month in my local charity shops, and also some pieces that I had previously found in charity shops, but not yet worn…

Sally Harper – Fashion’s sharpest Milliner.
Unless you have been residing on the moon, you couldn’t fail to notice that a bare head is seriously under-dressed. Hats, headpieces, headbands and fascinators- all of these items are having a bit of a style moment. Dita Von Teese favours the 1940s ‘black widow’ veiled looks, Kate Middleton has a neat collection of fascinators, Paloma Faith accessorises most of her outfits with some variety of headgear, whilst Kate Moss has modelled all varieties, from straw boaters at rock star weddings, stylish Trilby’s at summer festivals, to Minnie Mouse style headbands at Disneyland. The old adage ‘If you want to get ahead – get a hat’ has never been truer.…

Leopard Print- The cat in your wardrobe.
Is there a more iconic fabric or print than leopard? Every season, leopard print is on trend, whether it be in the form of warm coats and scarves in winter, or long maxi dresses and cute bikinis in warmer months. What makes it so timeless, and how can you ensure that you channel Kate Moss or Joan Crawford, rather than Bet Lynch, or, god bless her, Paris Hilton? It’s tricky. If you get…

Charity Shop, Vintage and Vinted Finds May/June Edition
Summer is a great time to hit the charity shops or to look on Vinted, as many people are having sort outs to make way for their new Summer clothing, It means that if you are going on holiday, you can add some new bits to your Summer wardrobe without breaking the bank, leaving you more spending money when you get into your resort. In addition to this, you may be travelling to different towns and areas where there are charity shops, and this may mean that you are able to find some real bargains in new places. So far this year I have travelled to Wales and Devon and…

Cosford Vintage And Handmade Festival
2022 has seen a welcome return of many events and happenings that were sadly curtailed during the pandemic. One such event took place earlier this month, with the return of the Vintage and Handmade festival at RAF Cosford. It happened to take place on a beautifully warm and sunny weekend, and it was great to see the crowds turn out in force for a mixture of music, food, re-enactments and a little bit of guilt free retail therapy. The Vintage and Handmade festival incorporates the very best of both of those areas, with two large tents of traders in some of the loveliest vintage and retro pieces, and handmade crafts…
