Debenhams Spring Beauty Event

On Saturday I went along to the lovely branch of Debenhams based at Intu Merry Hill for a very special beauty and pampering event. Taking my own mom along for the afternoon, we were treated to pampering, fragrance and insights into some of the best known beauty brands stocked at Debenhams. It was a whole lot of fun and a truly lovely experience.

We started with a session at one of my fave skincare brands, Elemis. I love Elemis, using lots of their products in my skincare regime, from the new cleansing balm, to the hero product Pro Collagen Marine Cream. Unfortunately, I had a skin break out on Saturday (damn hormones!). This had taken a lot of covering with make-up, and my skin was feeling really sore, so I was not able to partake in a mini facial. But my mom jumped at the opportunity, which left her skin feeling super soft and glowing.

The second session we attended was Lipology by Elizabeth Arden. As you can probably guess, this was a session dedicated to the care of the lips – an area often much neglected in our beauty regimes. We started with another hero product, the Eight Hour nourishing lip balm, a product I know and love, which leaves lips feeling really soft. We were also given some great beauty tips – including adding lip brushing to your beauty regime, using an old, clean mascara brush to gently brush dead skin off the lips – something I’ve never done before, but was really impressed with the results. Once the lips had been brushed and buffed, it was time to add some colour. I chose Coral Kiss lip gloss, which is a lovely, soft coral shade. This is one product I will definitely be adding to my make-up bag.

The final session we attended was for fragrance, showcasing the latest scents from Juicy Couture – Couture LaLa and Malibu. A fun quiz showed us which new Juicy fragrance was most suited to our personalities, to be honest my test suggested the fruity Malibu, but I prefered LaLa, which is similar to the original Juicy fragrance (which I love!). We then tried to guess the top notes through eating flavoured jellybeans – I was frankly useless, only guessing orange and watermelon. Finally we got chance to test some of the fragrances, and were given a bag full of samples and perfumes to enjoy at home.

What seductive shots of product! I love the Elemis products and that cleansing balm looks fab! I think a little shopping day is in order for me (all in the name of research for mothers of a certain age of course!)

That sounds like so much fun! I am terrible at guessing tastes and smells so I feel for you there!
