Duchess Kate glitters on a night out
I remember it well. The first night out I had after having Joe. The sheer exhilaration of putting something sparkly on, digging out the high heels and waving goodnight to the baby puke and nappies filled with plop, even if it was only for one night.
So I can fully understand why the Duchess of Cambridge went for full-on sparkle for her first evening occasion after the birth of Prince George. She looked absolutely amazing in a sensational Jenny Packham gown that shimmered from head to toe, and was teamed with equally glitzy Jimmy Choo heels.
Jenny Packham seems to becoming Kate’s Catherine Walker, her designer of choice for evening outfits. Certainly her silhouettes seem to be made with the tall, lithe Kate in mind, and this dress was just the perfect choice for the Duchess to be exclaiming ‘I’m back’ with. It bought to mind the Dynasty Di period that the Princess of Wales went through, an ultra-glam period when she outshone the brightest of Hollywood stars.
With Christmas fast approaching, now is the perfect time to invest in a sequined or sparkly dress. These are timeless pieces that never really date, especially when they have a 1930s cut like Kate’s Jenny Packham design. Perfect for all black tie events and parties over the Christmas period, the sparkly dress is a total statement piece like no other.

Kate looks gorgeous as usual. I can’t believe how fast she’s lost her baby weight.
