There was a bit of a miracle occurance this week when it came to the weather – the sun came out! Yes, it has been truly beautiful for the past few days, and with the weather this weekend promising to be ‘hotter than Ibiza’, this Friday fashion post could only be dedicated to pieces that are as bright and beautiful as the weekend promises to be.
John Lewis has launched an edit that it describes as ‘Botanical Brights’. This is a collection of items that you could wear now, and will also be brilliant to pack in your suitcase when it comes to Summer holiday time. The pieces are in a range of zesty, citrus colours that have been inspired by the tropical climes of Brazil and South America, palm tree prints and ferns and leaves. There are also a range of great beaded bags that seem to be influenced by Kate Middleton’s wardrobe from the recent tour of India and Bhutan – the sort of items that look like they were handcrafted and designed. Shoes too are represented, again an artisan design from the ‘Loved and Found’ department at John Lewis, representing exciting small companies and new designers, in this case, Solillas traditional style sandals.
My favourite piece is a peach of a floppy hat in a fantastic sunshine yellow. This is from the John Lewis main range and is sure to be very popular, weather you are wearing it on the beach, sight-seeing in a city, or shading the face at a festival.
What is your favourite piece? What are your plans for the summer sunshine this weekend?
